Santa’s Tiny Helpers

My Pukipuki Sugar, and Amelia Thimble are wearing bright red Santa hats and dresses for Christmas.  They are hoping that Santa notices them this year and needs their tiny helping hands for various elfin chores.  If Santa needs a reference for them I am ready to give him one.  These two are priceless; he’d better return them home to me after their chores are completed though, I’d miss them terribly.

Their Santa sets are made with bright red hand dyed lace weight merino and “fur” trim knit out of mohair/silk lace yarn.  (I love the way this yarn dyed up; it’s a very light tonal, with lights and darks.)  The dresses are embroidered with mistletoe berries, greenery, and blue spruce evergreen boughs.  Both tines are wearing tinkling bells at the ends of their Santa hats; maybe you’ll hear them on Christmas Eve.

Amelia wants to show Santa that she can climb around in Christmas trees and hang little ornaments.

Just wanted to let you know that your Christmas tree is like mine, traditional and full of memories. I only put it up when my grandchildren visit from WV, but I have a tree with blown glass dolls that only takes two hours to put up instead of three days. Thanks for the great pictures of your adventure and your lovely tree.

Your knitted items are truly exquisite. I enjoy your Blog so much, Susette

      Hi Susette,
Thank you so much and thank you for commenting! I cannot imagine a tree filled with blown glass dolls, but I bet it is beautiful! I agree that this “putting up of Christmas trees” is a huge task. It seems like the older we get the harder it gets too, but when the little ones enjoy it it is worth the effort. Hope you have a great day, Susette!

    HI Cindy,
Amelia’s and Sugar’s red dresses are just adorable. I LOVE the color of the yarn. Did you dye it yourself or buy it that way. It’s a very pretty color of red…My favorite picture is the one of Amelia sitting in your hand.. and next is the one where you are holding her dress on that teeny tiny hanger… I just love seeing the dresses like that!
I just checked and they are both sold… so somebody else liked that yarn too! What are you working on next? Felicity is up for me… don’t know what I’m making for her yet, but I better decide quick like!!!
Thanks for sharing your tiny little creations with us, Cindy,
    Blessings, Jeanne

Good morning, Jeanne. I dyed this yarn, no mixing of colors just red out of the jar. I only buy the primaries and mix what I need. (I also bought the ivory and ecru because I use those all the time and this way I could be sure what I’ll get.) It’s fun playing with color. I put Amelia in my hand when she is tired of standing. ha ha
I just finished something for Millie and need to finish up a red sweater dress for the Little Darlings. I also want to make a cotton dress and cardi for them. They are still the most popular and it’s been a little while. Have a great day sweet Jeanne!

      Hello Catherine,
Thank you so much. These two are quite ambitious for their size. I don’t think that I can hold them back, but I will have to make them new dresses. They don’t know it yet, but their red outfits have sold. Hope you are having a very nice day.
