More Vintage Eye Candy

First of all, Happy New Year everyone!  Who has gotten used to writing 2016 yet?  This is the first time that I have written it, and it will probably take me a while to get it right.

I’ve had a super busy week with not much time spent in my sewing room.  I’ve been knitting a sweater dress for the Little Darlings in my free moments.  And, believe it or not that’s all the dolly news right now.

I was going through my photos and found lots more pictures of vintage goodies to show you from our visit to the Volo Antique Mall that we made right before Christmas.  My first post showed you the Christmas items we saw at the antique mall.  Here are the photos I took of vintage toys that I thought were cute, different, or things that I wanted to remember.  I still have more photos of glassware, etc. to include in another post or two.

This metal stove and refrigerator toy look quite old.  Does anyone know about when these were made?  The stove is selling for $40 and the refrigerator $34.

Winter Weather… Finally

We had that nice snowfall right before Thanksgiving and a very brief snow in early December; that’s all the winter weather that we’ve had so far.  You can read about those snowfalls here and here.  Christmas Day was sunny and in the 40s, but mostly it’s been cloudy and wet from rain, not snow.  Today we are having a little snow, but again, it won’t last.  I can already hear the sleet hitting the windows, then it will turn to rain with lots of wind.

Here are a few pictures of our brief winter wonderland this morning.  It sure is pretty.

It is too windy for the birds, I think.  Maybe they’ll come around later.

I’ll be spending the day in my sewing room picking out fabrics and yarn for my next outfits.  Thanks for visiting me today!  Bye for now!

Day After Christmas

Whew!  I’m feeling a little bit worn out after the holiday.  How about you?  Thank you all for the Christmas wishes.  I truly appreciate each and every one.  ❤  I hope you had a wonderful Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

It seems like this year a lot of my extended family members were only together via telephone, text, and iChat, so at my house all of the phones were heavily in use both days.

We opened our gifts on Christmas Day.  Sometime during the night Santa visited and filled our stockings with yummy treats.  As we were emptying our stockings our tiny chihuahua had to give everything a good sniff.  He is also a great help pulling wrapping paper off of packages.  He learned how to do this from our golden retrievers, I’m not kidding.  Both of our dogs got a Christmas treat of ham and green beans which they devoured in seconds.

Our chihuahua surprised us by letting us know that he knew the command “down”.  When he was a puppy I was able to teach him:  sit, stay, come.  But, not the down command, he just wouldn’t lay down.  After all these years he showed us that he does know what it means, smart little guy.

A few of my daughter’s American Girl dolls made it out this year (as decorations).  It was nice seeing them all dressed for Christmas.  Here is Lanie (2010 Girl of the Year), Bitty Baby, and Kanani (2011 Girl of the Year).  They are wearing various American Girl holiday ensembles.

I  have to show you what I got for my Snow Village.  It’s Ginger’s House and oh, so perfect because our golden retriever’s name is Ginger!  Although if this were our Ginger she would have eaten the whole gingerbread man, not just his arm.  Ha ha.ginger's house 712

That’s all for now.  We need to straighten up today, exchange a few things, and rest a bit.

Thanks for reading!
