And… The Holiday Season Begins

It is that time of year again!!! Hello everyone! I really am not sure how this time of year has come around again…so soon after it just recently ended. I am just now getting over the fact that summer is over and autumn has started. 😂 I think my brain has some catching up to do.

Anyway, I love the holiday season, and it is here, so I will of course embrace it. Does anyone know, though, how to alleviate the stress that comes with it? I have an idea, but I don’t think it would be too popular.

My Christmas doll for 2022 was a sweet Li’l Dreamer. Evianna arrived too late to get a holiday ensemble, so she was first on my list this year and she’d like to show you what she’ll be wearing this holiday season.

Evianna wanted a traditional ensemble–red, green, holly, mohair yarn. Nothing too fancy–just cozy and bright, so that is what I made for her. I love how all the tiny knitwear pieces came together: a capelet, headband ear warmer, scarf, and tiny fingerless mitts. As soon as everyone else is ready Evianna will accompany them throughout the village singing Christmas carols. Oh, what fun that will be!

Isn’t she a sweetheart!!!

My Evianna would like to know if you have one of her Li’l Dreamer sisters at your house. She is an ‘only’ here, but she has older sisters and a younger sister–all designed by Dianna Effner, of course.

I’m going to say ‘bye’ for now–still have things to get done today–and it is already 3:30pm. Savor the weekend, and enjoy!

Sending lots of hugs from my dolls and I.🤗

A Hand-Me-Down for Holly

Who says hand-me-downs are unwelcome? Holly (Ruby Red Fashion Friend Stella) says, “I love hand-me-downs! My Kish Chrysalis 14” girls have been retired for some time now. I really only have a Piper left and she is enjoying a rest inside her doll box.

Even though I am no longer making anything for these dolls I still have a box filled with their clothing–not sure what to do with it all… Anyway, I was going through it and found a Halloween dress I made probably in 2009. I pulled it out and thought to myself how I always thought this was cute, but it was always a bit too roomy for the Chrysalis girls. I didn’t have a doll who could wear it well. In case you are wondering the pattern used for this dress is by MHD Designs for the 14″ Kish Chrysalis dolls. It is called Simplicite

While contemplating this, I could sense a bit of excitement on the doll shelf behind me. I turned around and Bella and Holly were trying to get my attention. They wanted to try it on. Well, why not! I let Holly try it on first. It was so cute on her and fit her perfectly. She convinced me it was simply ‘made for her’, so according to Holly, Bella didn’t need to try it on. I decided to let her wear it… this year anyway.

Also in the box, I found the crocheted capelet I had made and that fit her perfectly too. With pockets full of lollipops, a few Halloween accessories, a black hair ribbon, cotton rib tights, and black leather Mary Jane shoes Holly is ready for trick-or-treaters.

Riley and Tulah came out for Halloween too. The crochet ensembles they are wearing are probably about 15 years old! Time flies! Anyway, they are the Boo Crew this year.👻

Mid December

Hello! 🎄 How are you doing? Tomorrow is the 3rd Sunday of Advent… already. Oh my goodness–how these days are flying by!

Today I finished dressing my Little Darlings in their holiday ensembles. They are ready! They have gifts to give, carols to sing, snowflakes to make, and holiday cards to send.

I uploaded a new vlog this evening. I took video throughout the week documenting what I was working on and doing, and I then put it into a little video for you to watch. I hope you enjoy it. I had a very nice and productive week. I think I spent a few days dedicated to dolly craft.

My littlest chihuahua had to go in to have some baby teeth removed on Thursday. I was a very nervous momma, but he came through fine. The poor thing, though–not a good day for him. He was very vocal (squeaky) for hours afterwards.

Alice’s ensemble was made a while ago. I replaced the pink ribbon sash with a light red one and tied a bit of it in her hair. I replaced her pink tights with ivory and made her a holiday craft basket. She is making snowflakes and sending out Christmas cards.

Gina and Lucy are wearing new ensembles. I’m sure you’ve seen these two ensembles in the works many times. They have been much documented in my videos. And Lucy’s ear flap hat was the sample for my latest pattern. The instructions for Lucy’s scarf are in the description box for this video (I show how to change colors in the video–no cutting yarn between stripes). Gina’s Christmas stocking is a free pattern by Little Cotton Rabbits here. I made it 4 stitches narrower however.

Since these ensembles aren’t too holiday-like the girls will be able to wear them into winter–while I make things for my other dolls.

Alice, Gina, Lucy, and I would like to wish you a beautiful third week of Advent. May it be peaceful and filled with happy times and lovely moments.

I’d love to hear how your holiday preparations are coming along!

Sending hugs to you all! 🤗💖
