Happy Fall!

I cannot believe it! Autumn has begun in the northern hemisphere. (And if you live in the southern hemisphere I am quite envious as spring is my favorite season.) Is it feeling like autumn (or spring) yet, where you are?

There is a burnishing and golden glow to the greenery to let me know that it is time for everything to start winding down for the year, but there is still a warm and humid feeling to the outside air. It is impossible to think that we will have a frost in a few weeks. That is typically when we do, and then all growth in the garden comes to a definitive end. Yep, I don’t believe it… It has been so warm.

Trying to get into the autumn spirit got me looking through some of my ensemble photos from previous autumns and found this one of Gina from 8 years ago. I thought I’d share it with you again, since she is a favorite. Sweet isn’t she?

So what are you up to on the first day of this new season? So far I’ve cleaned out a few pots of plants. Slowly but surely is how the garden gets cleaned up around here. Maybe I’ll now be able to get into my sewing room… for a little sewing.

I hope you enjoy the weekend! Sending you lots of dolly hugs from my girls.🤗

    Good morning Cindy.
Yes spring has arrived here in Australia.
We are having above average temperatures and some strong winds.
I have been busy in the garden and have planted my salad vegetables.
I am enjoying the company of my hearing assistance dog Jane and she has really helped me with the sounds around my house that I can no longer hear. She is a sweetheart.
My sewing for the dolls has slowed down at the moment. I am managing some knitting. My latest health issues are making it difficult to do much at all
But I will soldier on and do what I can, when I can and rest in between.
    Take care Cindy
    Regards
    Wendy💐

Hello, Wendy. It is so nice to hear from you, although I am sorry to hear that sewing has been difficult for you. Our little girls are patient, but they love new things to wear. Mine are always looking at me with those big innocent eyes and I just know they are trying to tell me that they are tired of wearing the same thing for days, maybe months, on end. 😉
Jane must be the sweetest companion to have in your life, and to be helpful to you is an added bonus. What a good girl! Dogs are amazing! I cannot imagine being happy without one or more in my home.
Well, I am ready for spring again. I wish I could spend spring down by you, and maybe your summer too. Then, come back home to have spring and summer again. I think I could do without fall and winter.
I hope your garden blesses you with bountiful goodness.
Take care of yourself, Wendy❤️And, enjoy spring!

Love your trip down memory lane outfit for Gina. I don’t think she has aged a bit. 🙂
Here, we may have some actual rain coming down from the north. Unusual, as we normally don’t get rain until after Halloween. But, we’ll take it. Hopefully, it will be enough to finally put out the northern fires of which their smoke we have not been enjoying.
Spent the morning raking up leaves and filling garbage cans for pickup. Lots more still on the trees though.
Maybe putting out some fall decorations will get you in the mood for pumpkin something. 🙂

Hello, Joy. Yep, Gina is an oldy but goody…as far as my dolls go anyway.
We had some smoky days this summer, so now I know what it is like. ugh!!! I hope you can get that promised rainfall to put out the fires early this year. That would be nice. And then you could enjoy the autumn weather.
Sounds like you got some good exercise in raking up leaves. Ours have barely begun to fall–only a few so far.
You mentioned fall decorations… we’ll see… maybe I could muster up some enthusiasm.🥳
Have a good week, Joy!❤️Thank you for chatting with me!
