Patience and Izzy are feeling so sweet and rosy in their new coordinating outfits. Patience and Izzy’s cardigan, sweater dress, and hat and are knit in fine lace weight baby alpaca/silk yarn. It is very soft and has a nice drape to it. I hand dyed the yarn for Izzy’s set to pick up the blue in Patience’s floral print dress. Patience’s hat is crocheted in three natural fibers with a brim that can be worn up or down. The dress’s fabric is a fine cotton print from Japan and features the prettiest pastel flowers and ribbons in pinks, sky blue, green, and yellow. I used hand dyed silk ribbon and fine English cotton cluny lace for special touches in this coordinating set.

A Breath of Fresh Air
Curtains gently blowing at the open windows, the fresh air invited inside. Newly bloomed blossoms standing in tiny vases lined up on the windowsill. Looking outside and seeing freshness and color everywhere.
Such springlike images were going through my mind as I worked on this grouping of dresses for Amelia Thimble and Izzy.
Yes, these thoughts are “all in my head”. One look out the window and I know that that isn’t reality…yet.
Soon… very soon.

My Embroidered Gardens are Still Blooming
Even though the snow continues to fall and the thermometer still falls below freezing here in Illinois (and many other places), my embroidered flowers continue to bloom. They really do ease the pain of winter for me. I can “grow” as many blossoms as I like with a needle and bit of thread. Here are some pictures of my recent work for Amelia Thimble and Pukipuki.
