“Happiness is Pink”

Does pink mean happiness for you?  It does for me—especially when it’s in these vibrant shades.  But, who am I kidding?  I think I love every single shade of pink!  Really, every single one!  I’m tickled pink (sorry, just had to say it) just thinking about the endless shades of pink.

Upon finishing Patience’s ensemble the other day, I noticed that our pink magnolia tree was still in bloom.  It makes the prettiest backdrop (this was Patience last year) for Patience when she is dressed in pink.  Unfortunately, the wind was blowing like mad; I didn’t dare put her down, but was able to take a few photos while keeping her safe.

The print I used for this dress is another “must buy right away” print.  It reminded me of Liberty of London prints which I love, love, love!  This particular fabric is in the pink colorway.  (Gracie was wearing the purple colorway last week.  And, Gracie will be wearing the blue colorway too, lucky Gracie.)  Are you counting?  I bought all three colorways!

The hot pink mohair/silk lace yarn in my stash went perfectly with this print, which was exciting since I don’t get to use it often.

Three different shades of pastel bullion stitched embroidered roses dance around the neckline of the sweater in a random pattern.  I kept the pearl buttons the same value as the yarn so as not to compete with the embroidery.

Hand dyed silk ribbon in the perfect shade is used it for the crocheted beaded headband, waistline sash, and colorful bouquet.  Light pink hand dyed cotton Lycra® tights complete this pink ensemble.

By the way, Patience picked this bouquet just for you!  Isn’t she a sweetheart!

“Feelin’ Fancy”

I introduced you to Miss Fancy Mouse on Friday here.  Gina is here now, too, to show you the completed ensemble.  Aren’t they a fancy pair?

Gina’s dress is made with a cotton rose bouquet print in the most beautiful shade of lavender.  I describe is as a pinky purply medium shade of yumminess!  The lace shrug is knit with a slightly neutral lavender wool yarn that really makes this print look even prettier, if that’s possible.  I brought out the bright pink color in the roses with ribbon and the heart charm.  The deeper rose color is brought out with the crocheted raspberry rose and tassel.  The color of the shrug is also used for the 5-petaled flower, purse ties, and tassel.  White accents offer a splash of crispness.

English cotton Cluny lace is set into the skirt so that the lining subtlety peeks through, and makes the lace band appear just a little lighter.

Gina’s lace shrug keeps her shoulder warm on these spring days.

Gina wanted to show you Miss Fancy Mouse’s long tail and bow, so I quickly took a photo of Miss Fancy Mouse’s backside.

Here she is all tucked into her carrier.  She is a cozy mouse indeed.

One More for March!

Hello to you all!  Yep, one more, and then March 2017 is a wrap.

My very spoiled Little Darlings worked out amongst themselves who would model this last ensemble.  They decided that Alice, my Little Darling painted by Nelly Valentino, would be the one to get the job.  I must say they chose well; she looks as sweet as sugar in this new spring set.

Isn’t she a cutie pie! ❤  Alice shines in neutral, warm colors.

The fabric I used for this dress is the same print as used for “A Whisper of Spring”, but this one is in the warm palette.  The colors coordinates with Gracie’s “A Springtime Garden Stroll”.

This print is made up of salmon, blush pink shades, a bit of neutral gold, and a soft green.  The background is the palest of peach, as light as ivory, but peachier.  The hemline is edged with a beautiful scalloped English cotton Cluny lace in ecru.

I chose to highlight the salmon color with a rayon ribbon sash and a hand made bow on the cloche hat.  Alice’s cloche is crocheted with ivory cotton and white bamboo.  The brim is edged with a feminine shell stitch.  I like the brim turned up on the right side, a very stylish look.  The bow is handmade with a multi pearl beaded center, and the knit leaf is in a soft green bamboo.

Alice’s hand knit “light as a feather” cardigan is made with lace weight mohair/silk yarn.  The floral embroidery coordinates with the dress.

Alice’s spring basket is crocheted with blush pink cotton.  Her little duckling is a vintage porcelain miniature, and sits atop a bit of green Easter grass.  Alice’s bracelet is made with tiny pearls and pink seed beads.  A peach/clear marbleized glass heart dangles from the bracelet.  The tights are in the palest warm shade and are made with rayon Lycra® knit.
