(Free) American Girl Fingerless Mitts Knitting Pattern

First, I have to say “Happy New Year everyone!”  Hope you all have a great 2015!

I’ve been working on a simple pattern for you knitters and lovers of American Girl dolls.  BTW, did you check out the new Girl of the Year at americangirl.com?  It’s the first thing I did this morning (after making my cup of tea, that is).  She is a sweetie with so many irresistible pieces to complete her story.  Who doesn’t love a bakery?  Wish I had a little girl to buy for.

I noticed that Grace has a pair of her own fingerless mitts.  I didn’t know that when I started this pattern the other day.  I even embroidered a heart on them which seems to be one of her symbols.  I didn’t know that either.  Funny…

The pattern is located on this blog under the “Free Patterns” tab at the top of the blog.  It is a quick knit and a way to use up your scraps of fingering weight yarn.

Have fun knitting!

Christmas & Candy Canes

Red striped candy canes as we know them now have been the official Christmas candy since about 1900.  (Before this time they were solid white.)  But only recently, it seems, every company has a candy cane variation for their products i.e.,  Candy Cane Oreos, Ghirardelli peppermint bark, Starbucks drinks (too many to list), Dairy Queen Candy Cane Chill Blizzard, etc. etc.

Since all of the above will ruin a diet here is my Little Darling, Gina, modeling a no calorie version starring the candy cane.

Doesn’t she look yummy?

So, what are your favorite treats in candy cane flavors?

Helping the Clauses

Well, no, not those Clauses!

It’s Gina’s Grandma and Grandpa.  They are dressing up as Santa and Mrs. Claus for Gina’s school Christmas bazaar and Gina gets to help pass out candy canes to all of Santa’s (Grandpa’s) little visitors.  Gina has the perfect outfit for her important job.  The dress is a print of pin dots in minty colors and her Santa hat and jacket are the all important finishing touch.  Gina even has her hair styled like Mrs. Claus (Grandma), without the grey, of course.

She is ready, don’t you think?
