“Sunshine & Posies” for Patience

Patience is all about summer sunshine and flowers, flowers everywhere.  Doesn’t she look all bright and happy and ready to make you smile?

I love Patience in hats.  This one is crocheted with three strands of cotton in two different weights of thread.  The brim can be turned up, down, or a bit of both.  The band matches the dress.  I “free hand” crocheted (no pattern) the flower to coordinate with the shapes on the dress.  It is a cup shape and filled with yellow beads for the stamens and has a curly apple green stem.

“Red, White, & Cherries”

Patience is showing off her patriotic side in her new ensemble, “Red, White, & Cherries”.  Tuesday was a picture perfect kind of day here in northern Illinois so we took to the outdoors for Patience’s photo shoot.

red, white, and cherries672I crafted a fun hair tie to bring to life the cherry motifs on Patience’s dress.  I crocheted around lightweight pearl beads so the cherries would hold their shape, added a crocheted leaf, stems with the crochet thread, navy silk bow and a length of fine crochet to use as the tie.  Patience seems to be enchanted.

red, white, and cherries 650I used pure white bamboo thread to knit Patience’s sweater.  Some cobalt blue Czech glass crystal beads from my stash made the perfect buttons.  I embroidered tiny red work cherry motifs around the bottom of the sweater.

red, white, and cherries675Patience had the idea to pretend that the apple tree was a cherry tree to further the cherry theme.

It was a bit breezy, but the photo shoot was going smoothly until I turned my back on her for a second…

…and Patience starts to climb the apple tree.  “Hey Patience, where are you going?”

red, white, and cherries720I see London.  I see France…  (Sorry, I couldn’t resist.)

A Little Bit of “Vintage Flair”

Patience has a cozy and sweet ensemble to show you today.  It is made with a fabric that I HAD to order when I saw it.  (Once in a while I find a fabric that I love this much.)  Everything about it appealed to me from the way it reminded me of a Liberty of London print with a 1970s vibe to the beautiful pink and blue colors in my favorite shades.

vintage flair 400I loved embroidering this sweater as I got to use yummy colors.

After Patience and I were finished with the photo shoot Izzy wanted to pose for a couple of pictures with her twin big sis.  They are both Wilde Imagination’s girls and they both have long red hair.  Aren’t they cute together?
