If you read my post from yesterday, you know that I want to start sharing the talents God has blessed me with. And, I mentioned how a few ideas have started trickling in.
The first idea I have is to publish a couple of knitting patterns. I used to publish cross stitch patterns, so pattern publishing is not new for me, but writing knitting patterns is something new, so it’s exciting and a bit scary at the same time.
These will be simple patterns, but lengthy and wordy with lots of photos to show you all the steps involved. My hope is that anyone who knows the basic stitches will be able to complete my patterns.
Before I begin this process, I’d like to know if it is something you’d like. If there is enough interest I will go forward, and if not, I will look for another way to share. If you would be interested in possibly purchasing one of my knitting patterns, would you please comment as to which doll, what type of garment or accessory, and if you have yarn weight or type preference? Feel free to comment below, send me a Facebook message, email me, or fill out the contact form on my website, cindyricedesigns.com . Thank you so much!
And, thank you for your comments from yesterday’s post.
Bye for now!
Definitely yes. I prefer to knit from patterns
Thank you, Ina!
Yes! I would be interested. Most of the items are make are AG size. I’ve used yarn from fingering to worsted weight on my projects. I don’t sell anything. I either give it as a gift or donate it for charity purposes. Simple projects would be best for me so then I can give/donate more items. Thank you!
Jeri,
I have a free AG cardi pattern that uses sport weight yarn. The download is under the Free Patterns tab right here on this blog. Please note the pattern errata located by the download link.
I would love to have knitting or patterns for Amelia Thimble and (I know you haven’t done much or any) my biggest love is Blythe. Either the Pure Neemo small size body or the standard Blythe body. I also have quite a few of the Soom IMDA 3.0 which are close to YOSD size. I would love to see your tutorials, I just know your attention to details is fantastic! Excited!
Hi Melani,
I know very little about Blythe, but Amelia Thimble, definitely yes! Thank you! ❤
Well, since my Little Darling is going to be started in just two weeks (Yay!), her size or the 10er Ann Estelle group would be my pattern choice. Of course Penny and others may be offended. I think a basic cardigan sweater would be my first choice for a pattern as it would go with a dress, skirt, or pants. I like the fine yarn too as it seems to fit with their size. With your directions, perhaps I can really do knitting. 🙂
Hi Joy,
I hope you can make a sweater too. Actually, I KNOW you can! I’ll have lots of photos and walk you through the entire pattern. I have the hardest time with patterns. I cannot get a picture in my head of what I am doing by simply reading the words and abbreviations, and I need that. I also wonder do they mean this or that?
How exciting for you to be getting your LD soon!
Definitely a cardigan pattern in fingering weight for AG dolls. And your little dress and cardigan for the AG minis. And the hats. We can never have too many hats.
Hi Karen,
You’ve tried my free AG pattern for sport weight yarn? Sorry, I don’t remember if you told me or not; my memory is not what it used to be. A question, are the new, all vinyl AG minis the same size as the older ones with the fabric bodies? Thank you.
I would definitely buy one of your knitting patterns for Little Darling or 10 inch dolls. I would love to be able to make a sweater with buttons. I can only make a simple sweater with no buttons. I don’t plan on selling anything. I can barely make them for myself! Londa
Hi Yolanda,
Buttons aren’t that hard. You can do it! Thanks for commenting.
I just recently came across your blog. Love it. I haven’t knitted for dolls but I would like to knit for American Girl and I am going to look for those small dolls that you dress. They are just adorable.
Yes, I would buy a pattern. I like to buy my knitting patterns on Ravelry so that I can keep track of them
All the best
Carol
Carol,
Thanks for commenting. Have you seen my free AG cardi pattern right here on my blog? It’s under the Free Patterns tab. Please note the errata on the download page.
PATTERNS —- YES
I have all sizes. I particularly like the one piece dresses in Little Darling size and Millie size. But I do run from PukiPuki to Dollmore Trinity.
This is a great idea.
Cathy J
Thank you, Cathy! ❤
yes, i would love to buy your knitting patterns. i have kish riley dolls.
Thanks so much for responding!
Hi I would be very interested in purchasing knitting patterns off you if it was a digital download between sizes of 10 to 14 inch doll
Lillias
I don’t know if I’ll get the digital download thing figured out quite yet, but I’m hoping for a pdf that can be emailed as an attachment. Thanks for your response, Lilias.
I would definitely be interested in anything for my Little Darling doll and Amelia Thimble. Love your idea!
Thank you, Sandie!
I’m with the ladies above!! I would love knit patterns for 10″ Patsy (the raglan sweater, a hat, and your one piece dress for her!) I also knit for the American Girl dolls and would love to have a hat and the one-piece dress pattern. I don’t have Amelia or Little Darling and they look so cute in your creations!! Thank you for asking. Rita
Thanks for commenting, Rita. ❤
Yes, please! Any knit pattern of yours. Prefer Little Darling size but I probably have all sizes of dolls.
Thank you for responding. ❤
It would be nice to have Cardigan or sweater patterns for American Girl.
Hi. Did you see the free pattern I have. It’s under the free patterns tab right here on this blog. However, please note the errata. Thanks for your comment.
little darling and wild patience patterns for the sweaters in different styles would be nice…
I guess Patience is wild with her crazy eyes! Ha ha! Thanks for responding, Susan!
Yes, I would be very interested in your knit patterns and I have dolls in various sizes.
Thanks for responding, Dolly! ❤
My favorites at the moment are Kish Riley, and Amelia Thimble by Tonner. I also love Patsy. There are so many Good AG patterns and tutorials, I think the dolls you show on your blog are best.
Hi MerryBeth,
Thanks so much for your response. There ARE a lot of AG patterns out there. I’m surprised more are requested, but maybe those patterns are too difficult to figure out? (Just a thought.) I like things simple, but cute. 🙂
I made your sweater for AG doll and loved it. Have a doll little bit smaller. Hope to adapt pattern for it. Please share your embroidery designs as well as they are so beautiful. Thanks. More patterns for AG dolls please.

Thank you, Donna, I appreciate your thoughts. I’ll file away the embroidery design idea for a little later.
Well from the enthusiastic responses Cindy, I think you have a winner of an idea! Of course I would love to knit a little somethin’ somethin’ for my little 10″ Gina and I have a step-granddaughter who loves the Canadian Girl (similar to the American Girl) and I would love tobe able to knit for her dolly too!
Wendi,
Have you tried my free pattern for an AG cardigan? It’s available to download under the Free Patterns tab. Please note the errata though. Thanks for commenting.
Hi Cindy,
I, too, would love patterns from you! This is my first time commenting, I found your blog through Jeanne Marie. Your outfits are always so beautiful! I love to see your designs, but have not bought any, they always sell so quickly! I have a LD (along with 2 more ordered from Magalie), along with all sizes of Kaye Wiggs from Nelly to Millie.
I am a beginner knitter, so hopefully the patterns will start out simple. 🙂
Hi Carol. I will explain all the steps in the pattern. I get easily confused, so I totally understand how others might need a little more help. Thanks for commenting.
Yes, yes and yes!!!
I would love to buy some of your knitting patterns….
Judi
Thanks for commenting, Judi! ❤
Hi Cindy
I would be very interested in cardigan patterns for Little Darlings. I would also love to be able to embroider bullion stitch so would love to know how to add these to my knits.
Thanks, Sue. I appreciate your comments. ❤
