Hello there, my friends! How has March been going for you so far? Do you have any spring fever starting, or autumn excitement if you are in the southern hemisphere? I love the seasonal changes.
Lucy is most definitely wishing for spring here in northern Illinois, and I am right along there with here. We had some springlike days last week; they were sunny and warm-ish, perfect for erasing any of the remaining winter doldrums.
We’ve had 7 straight days of sun-filled gems which have been glorious! I haven’t taken even one of them for granted. ❤ It’s hard to tell yet, but maybe we’ll have an eighth.
To celebrate March, I’d like to show you Lucy wearing “Wishing for Spring”. Her mohair/silk cardigan is in the most luscious green, kind of greenish turquoise. I embroidered blossoms in pinks and peach along the front neckline and shoulder area to this light-as-a-feather cardigan. They have tiny ivory Delica beads as their centers.
I knit this cardigan from my Little Darlings “Light Cardigan” pattern. I used the longest length and the elbow length sleeve instructions. You can find the pattern here.
Lucy’s pretty cotton floral dress is printed with pink and peach posies and tiny turquoise/green buds. They pick up the color in the cardigan nicely. French cotton lace decorates the hemline, and a thin pink satin ribbon ties around the waistline.
“Wishing for Spring” is a one-of-a-kind creation. It will be available tonight (Sunday, March 4, 2017) at 7:00 pm CST, cindyricedesigns.com.
I hope you all have a beautiful day! ❤
Love Lucy’s dress and sweater. I think you may have to bribe her with candy to give it up. 🙂
Glad you’ve had some sun. Just makes everything so much more cheerful.
Hi, Joy. Nah, Lucy is ready for something new. My girls are sweet, but they are a bit spoiled. We had an 8th sun-filled day too—winter advisory for this evening though, and the clouds have moved in this morning. I don’t mind; I’m fully sunshine recharged. Have a beautiful day, Joy! ❤
Good morning Cindy from sunny Australia. We are now into the beginning of Autumn and here on the coast where we are holidaying (for 3 weeks) it is absolutely beautuful. The caravan park is right beside the sea. My daughter is deputy principle of a high school nearby and has just bought a townhouse , also in a nearby seaside village. I am looking forward to spending a little time with her and my granddaughter while I am here.
I have plenty of craft to keep me occupied. Right now I am crocheting a “rug of many colours” from leftover yarn from previous projects . My partner has laid claim to it. Thought it might be just the thing for him on a cold night to keep him warm.
Little Lucy looks so charming. I love the print of the dress and the beautiful green cardigan. Everything matches so perfectly.
I hope you have a wonderful week and the spring weather keeps peeping out for you to enjoy.💟🕊😊
Thanks so much, Wendy, and thank you for sharing what is going on in your world which is so far away from me. It sounds wonderful! It must be heavenly living by the sea. *sigh* How cold does it get in wintertime?
Your “rug of many colors” sounds happy and filled with many crafty memories. It feels great when someone we love loves what we’re making so much to lay claim to it.
Have fun on your holiday, Wendy. ❤

Yes, Cathy, it is. ❤
Hi Cindy, we are still a journey from spring, we had 4 more inches of snow on Monday and it just keeps piling up. Lucy looks so adorable , she definitely pulls at the heart strings!! The dress is so fabulously girly with the print of posies and the French lace hemline. It is finished off by the lovely bow and the mohair cardigan is made and embroidered beautifully . Sending big hugs to both of you , have a lovely day, Terri xo.
Hi, Terri. Gosh, winter really hangs on in MN, doesn’t it? Well, it seems to be hanging on here in IL, too, but not quite as bad. We don’t have all that snow to deal with, only cold temps. My crocuses and daffodils have started to sprout, so it can’t be long now. Lucy and I say “thank you very much for the compliments”. Enjoy the weekend, Terri. ❤
