From the Past Month

Ah, once again it’s been so long between posts.  Time goes by so quickly!  I should title this post “From the Past Month Plus”.  It’s been a busy August here simply enjoying the summertime.

After a rainy June, July and August finally felt like summer had arrived and I took full advantage.  I thoroughly enjoyed soaking up my dose from the almost daily sunshine!  It makes me a little sad that September is right around the corner; summer was not long enough in my opinion.  Maybe we will be blessed with a warm-ish and sunny autumn.  Fingers crossed!

Here’s a little peak of a new ensemble I just completed for my Little Darling, Lucy.

My girls have agreed to “share” this ensemble soon.  Lucy wants to wear it for a few more days before “sharing” though.

Do you like dragonflies?  This dragonfly landed right on my finger as soon as I was about to take a photo of Lucy’s cardigan.  It was so unexpected and sweet.  He wanted to stay on my finger too.  I’m probably too impatient; I had to set him elsewhere after a minute or two.

Now for some human knitting news.  I finished my “Rumble in Brighton socks”.  You can read about that yarn in my last blog post.  The yarn is a random speckled yarn, but it knit up looking like micro stripes.  I have no idea why…

My current sock project is self-striping yarn by Urth Yarn’s Uneek Sock base in color #58.  My local yarn store where I purchased it at is 2 Needle Chicks.  I must say the yarn is tons prettier than the photo on the box.  I’ll share the finished pair next time.

If you’re in the U.S. I hope you all have a beautiful Labor Day weekend.  I’ve never heard of this, but my daughter has classes on Labor Day!  I thought the point of Labor day was no labor.  Oh, well…

Bye for now, my friends. ❤

Hi, Pat. Wow. You have been knitting like crazy! How inspiring! Thanks for your input. I will keep your wants in mind. Right now, however, I am focusing on slowly getting back into the actual sewing and knitting. Knitting patterns may come some time next year. You never know, though, I may get the urge earlier. ❤

Oh, how did you ever get that photo of the dragonfly?? Four handed?
The LD outfit is just lovely as always. You come up with the most wonderful color combinations.
I think a revolt is in order at your daughter’s school. Just kidding. Out here Labor Day is always a three day weekend. 🙂 End of summer and on to fall. I wonder how many students cut that class on Labor Day?
Lots of beautiful fall fabrics out there. I’ve actually made a few things lately for the Meadow kids. They are a lot of fun.
The daughter of one of our neighbors graduated from college in Ohio and is now settling in Chicago. She’s excited.
And lucky daughter gets the dream socks. They are beautiful works of art. 🙂
    Until next time. 🙂

Hi, Joy. My camera was all ready to snap a picture of the sweater when the dragonfly came along, so just moved my focus. I had the camera’s strap around my neck–no danger in dropping it. Today is only the second day of classes–hopefully all students will make it for Monday’s. The Meadow dolls are so cute! I am totally behind in the current ‘hot’ dolls. Actually, I always am I think. Your kids come out here and our kids go out to CA. Hmm… seeking independence? It’s always so nice hearing from you, Joy! Have a nice holiday weekend. ❤

Hi Cindy, I think we had very similar weather to you, What we get comes to you i think! I am glad the humidity is down and we are still getting some great sunshine. I agree , I hope the autumn is really nice and cuts into winter a little ! Oh my gosh Lucy looks adorable and super cute in that dress ! I love the print . Her accessories of the hat and basket go great with it and I love the shoes. What a nice photo of the dragonfly with camera at the ready! I am looking forward to seeing the next completed pair of socks. That is strange having classes on Labor day. The times we live in… Have a beautiful weekend Dear , Terri xo.

Hi, Terri. I’m so happy you are finally getting some beautiful summer weather also. We all NEED a warm autumn too! Lucy and I say thank you for the compliment on her new ensemble. I was a little creeped out by the dragonfly–wasn’t sure if they bite or not, but I tried to stay calm and am glad I did. I love the photo I was able to capture. I hope your weekend is filled with beautiful weather and fun! ❤
