Happy 2021 from snowy northern Illinois! I want to wish you the best for the year ahead. We all need a great year and I hope that this one is it. I’m sending positive and happy thoughts out into the universe.
Today we are enjoying a beautiful snowfall. Our first real snow had happened during the week, but it was at night, so we couldn’t enjoy the beauty. This one is all day long and I am loving it. It’s cozy and warm inside.
I just blocked Penny’s cardigan, and since I finished it in our dim living room while watching a movie, I was a little surprised when I started flattening it out for blocking. Do you see what I see? The yarn pooled in an unattractive way on the front. I am disappointed, but I decided to block it before chucking it. Maybe I can use it to my advantage with different colored embroidery, although I am not betting on this; it’s really strange looking. I’ve already picked out another color of yarn.
This week has been a relaxing time between Christmas and New Year’s. Chrimbo Limbo is what I recently heard it being called. Have you ever heard it called that?
I put together a short video of what I’ve been up to this week, Chrimbo limbo. Hint, lots of baking and cooking and not much working.
I wish you all a great 2021. May it be as ‘back to normal’ as it possibly can. Hugs to you.🤗
Such a lovely time of year…. I enjoyed the music of the video, too. Soft and gentle. Baking, friendly animal friends, knitting and enjoying the Christmas tree for days more. Where I live in central California, the San Joaquin Valley & farm country, our “snow” happens in February when millions of individual petals from the almond blossoms fall ever so gently to the ground between the almond rows. The white carpet stretches all down the long rows, all those almond blossoms having gone from snowy trees to snowy ground cover. We have a “Blossom Trail” that winds through the stone fruit orchards of the county and all is white and pink blossom and later white and pink carpets. The pink blossoms are from peach/nectarine trees. Thank you for your posts and comments this past year; I enjoy hearing from you. 🙂
Hello, Margaret. What a lovely picture you paint of your “snowfall” from blossoms. It sounds heavenly! Thanks for sharing.
I am happy you enjoyed my video. ❤️Thank you for watching.
Have a great start to 2021!
You’ve gotten so far on your lovely little sweater…is there something you could do to balance the color? Maybe embroider white flowers on the lavender side and lavender flowers on the white side to make it look intentional? You are such an expert at these tiny little sweaters and I so enjoy seeing the outfits you create for your dolls. Can’t wait to see what you create this year! Happy New Year!
Hi, Tamara. Great idea–that might work, thank you. I think I’ll weave in the ends and stitch up the seams to get a better feel for it.
Thanks so much for following along with me and my creations.
I hope you have a great start to 2021. ❤️
So good to hear from you! I enjoy hearing from you and catching glimpses of your lovely work.
Hope you have a safe and healthy new year!

Hi Cindy,
A Happy and Healthy New Year to you and your family.
I’ve enjoyed watching your Videos … thank you for sharing. Watching you put an outfit together is fun. I’m sorry your newest sweater didn’t come together like you hoped. I wonder.. have you ever tried dyeing a piece after you’ve finished knitting it? Maybe try sponging a little light and dark color here and there see what it looks like. Just a thought.
hugs
Ingrid
Hello, Ingrid. I am so happy you’re enjoying my videos–thanks for letting me know!
I’ve dyed completed pieces a couple of times. It seems to work fine. I will keep that in mind if I cannot get it to work as is. Thank you.
Wishing you a great start to 2021. ❤️

Thank you very much for this beautiful video …. in my turn I send you my best wishes for this coming year that it will be very good for you and your family ….
For the small cardigan, I also sometimes pester for the same problem..I think that this is due to the fact that the models are small and we do not use enough thread in a row …. but I think that ‘ with the pretty flowers that you are going to make desus it will be pretty …
Happy new year, good day Bisous Fanfan
Bonjour, Fanfan.

Hello, Fanfan. Thank you for the words of encouragement. I am going to weave in the ends and stitch up the underarm seams. It just might be okay with embroidery. If not, I will try dyeing it.
I think you are right why this happens. Live and learn, right?
Have a great start to the new year! ❤️
Love your Chrimbo limbo vlog! Beautiful scenery, interesting baking, pretty things to look at and I love your finished Christmas socks. As for the tiny cardigan, I’m sorry you’re not happy with it. I had to look closely for the problem but if you’re like me, every time you look at it, you’ll see that part. I think some embroidery to cover it is the perfect solution. The rest of the knitting is so neat as all your work is and it would be a pity to pull it out.
Happy New Year to you and your family. Looking forward to reading and watching more of your inspiring blogs this year. Keep healthy and safe and enjoy your new projects during the months ahead.
Hi, Judy. Thanks so much for letting me know you’ve enjoyed my video. I enjoyed putting it together so much.
I am going to weave in the ends and sew up the underarm seams. And hopefully with a little embroidery it will work. Penny is a quirky girl, so maybe it will be fine.
Thanks, also, for following along with my creative endeavors.
Wishing you a great start to 2021. ❤️
Merci Cindy pour cette vidéo pleine de douceur, c’est si agréable à regarder. Je vous souhaite mes meilleurs voeux pour 2021.
🙂
Thank you Cindy for this sweet video, it’s so pleasant to watch. I wish you my best wishes for 2021.

Hello, Patricia. Thanks so much for watching my video and letting me know you enjoyed it. I really enjoy putting these together. Wishing you the same for 2021. ❤️
Happy New Year, Cindy! What a delightful video! Your socks turned out beautiful as did all the food! Here’s to the next year being full of hope and happiness! Thank you for the beautiful snowfall scenes – here in AZ it’s sunny and a warm! Coming from MN, I do miss the snow – but only the beauty, not the cold!
Hi, Phyllis. Thanks so much for watching and enjoying my video. It was fun to make!
Great idea for the next year’s wishes–hope and happiness. We all need that!
I can understand missing the snow, not the cold. The cold can be tough. So far our winter hasn’t been too bad, so not tired of it yet. Hoping no polar vortex this year–2019 was the worst.
Wishing you a beautiful start to 2021. ❤️
Happy New Year to you and your family. May it be filled with peace, good health and much joy.
Thank you. And the same to you, Marian. ❤️
Hi Cindy, I am sending positivity back to you as well for this year! I am glad you got to experience the beautiful snowfall looking out at it. One of the joys of living “up here” ! Sorry the cardigan did not turn out as planned, but if anyone can remedy it , its you! I have never heard Crimbo limbo ! Such a lovely video, the cookies look so good , and that soup , I can almost taste it from here. The socks look so cozy ! The dogs are so cute on theirt hind legs smelling the food! Such a beautiful sight looking at the snow. Thanks again, Terri xo.
Hi, Terri. I am really enjoying the winter beauty this year–maybe because the temps haven’t been too bad. I got the cardigan to work just fine. I’m happy about that. Crimbo limbo is a new term for me, too. I heard it from a podcaster who lives in the UK. Dogs are such happy and comical additions to our families, aren’t they? I love mine so much even though they would choose food or me. Thank you for complimenting my socks. They are wonderfully warm to wear. Even on cold days (0° wind chill) a pair of wool socks layered with silk socks keep my toes warm in fabric running shoes for miles. I hope you’re having a great week, Terri. ❤️
