Gracie is Feeling Some “Snowflake Magic”

Ah, the magic of the first snowflakes of the season. In my opinion there is nothing quite like them. Those beautiful bits of white fluff dancing in the air and then floating to the ground. We’ve had a few instances of snow–although nothing that stuck, but the beauty of those first flakes gave me a feeling of peace and hope.

My Kaye Wiggs Gracie is loving this time of year too. She is dressed for the season in a cozy winter ensemble. Her Nordic inspired dress print features lots of delicate snowflakes on a festive red background with a crystal looking waist sash. Her pine green cardigan is knit out of merino/silk yarn. It is decorated with snowflakes and matte gold sequins and crystal beads. The buttons are matte gold Czech crystals. Her beret is made with the same type of yarn, but in its natural color. A red/green pom pom sits at the top. She wears ribbed tights to keep her legs toasty warm.

The contrast of rustic matte gold mixed with icy and sparkly decorations appealed to me when designing this ensemble. Gracie’s bracelet features a bit of gold with crystal Delica beads and a crystal snowflake charm. She is carrying a crystal snowflake ornament with matte golden bells. I wonder which tree she will add this ornament to…

I’d say that fall is slipping away here in northern Illinois. The trees are mostly bear and many days are hovering right around freezing. Today we are having fall clean up done for us which is so nice. We have so many leaves that collected in piles around our house and in the ground cover and bushes. 🍁 They are being blown out and mulched into the lawn or picked up. I am thankful for the help!

What are you up to this weekend? Shopping? Getting ready for Christmas?

Sending you all happy late fall (or spring 🌷) wishes! Enjoy! 🤗❤️

I’m watching, too, but courtesy of the Michigan/Ohio State game where the TV is leaving the snowflakes in. None on the coast in Southern California. The little dress and sweater are amazing as usual. Stay snug and creative! 🥰🎄

Hi, Susette. Wow! That was some crazy snowstorm! Can’t imagine trying to play in that mess. Thank you. It’s a pretty calm Monday morning here in Illinois and that is great in my book. Have a nice week! ❤️

Hi, Carol. Thank you! My personal project is taking me longer than I’d like it to take. I want to make a holiday and an every day ensemble for my dolls so that they’d have something in their wardrobe. As it stood before I started, not one of them had anything to wear. Think I’m getting close to being finished. I also don’t work as fast as I used to. My hands and back need more breaks.
It’s been wonderful hearing from you, Carol! I hope you are well. You are so kind!!! ❤️
Merry Christmas to you and your family! 🎄

Love Gracie’s sweet outfit. Perfect pompom accent for the tam too. Fun. Here, we just got back from a walk where I got too warm, I had to take off my jacket. No snow here. Now, I’m waiting for the dryer load to be done. Not very exciting. 🙂

Bonjour Marie. Merci. En effet, j’apprécie les premières chutes de neige, mais là où j’habite, je pense que l’hiver dure trop longtemps, pour moi en tout cas. Passe une bonne semaine!❤️

Hello, Marie. Thank you. Indeed I enjoy the first snowfalls, but where I live I think winter goes on too long, for me anyway. Have a great week! ❤️

The first snowflakes are very special Cindy, its the millions that come after that I have an issue with !!! We had some stick a while back but there is nothing on the ground now. Gracie is so precious in her snowflake print dress , it is very cute with the pine green cardigan and white tights. Her beret will keep her head warm on the cold days. I love the gold bracelet with the crystal charm ! It will be interesting to see which tree gets to wear the ornament ! I am glad you are getting the leaf work done for you Cindy! Your weather is so similar to ours , I am glad most days we are having sunshine. We had a pretty relaxing weekend ! Sending warm wishes and hugs across to you, have a nice week, Terri xo.

Hi, Terri. Yep, I agree! Winter does get old, doesn’t it? About 4 weeks of wintery weather would be perfect for me.
Thank you! Gracie is very happy with her winter attire. She will stay nice and warm.
Yesterday we had a beautiful sunny day, but cold. Today is warmer, but cloudy. Can’t have it all…
      Enjoy your week, Terri. ❤️
