Hello! I hope this post finds you happily enjoying the weekend. It is Saturday morning here and all is good.
Patience received a new holiday ensemble this year and she has been eagerly waiting to show it to you. She is also eagerly awaiting that first snowfall. Other than some very sparse flakes, that didn’t stick, we’ve not had any here in northern Illinois.
Patience’s cute snowman print dress features rows of colorful snowmen. This cotton print fabric by Lori Holt (Cozy Christmas, Riley Blake Designs) also came in a pink and blue background color way. I liked the sunny yellow. There are some sellers on etsy that have this print if you are interested.
Patience wanted black coal buttons for her “snowy” cardigan which is knit out of mohair/silk lace weight Aloft. She wanted to be like her little snowman. The coal buttons are actually black beads (I had exactly four!) that I found in my stash.
Patience’s three scarves are knitted four stitch i-cords decorated in a variety of ways. The green one reminds me of how our golden retrievers’ fur would get after walking in the snow. It was so silly to see balls of snow dangling and jiggling from their legs and chest. It never seemed to bother them at all.

This little snowman is needle felted with merino fiber. His features are sewn on with seed beads. His scarf matches one of Patience’s and is a 2-stitch i-cord. The earmuffs are made with purchased pom poms and a strand of wool yarn–all sewn on.
And, as you can see Patience is NOT letting him go! She can keep him forever and ever… he’ll never melt!
Do you have any snow yet? Like Patience I’m still waiting for that first magical snow.
Sending you warm December wishes. I’d love to hear what you’re up to this weekend!
Patience is adorable in her holiday finery!

Hello, Marie. Thank you! I think we will be like you this Christmas–no snow.
No snow here in northern CA, however, we had frost if that counts. 🙂 Love the cute outfit for Patience. Great snowman fabric. Around here, need to make a list as there are so many things to get going on. Like wrapping presents for the grands and making something for a RRFF doll. Busy time for sure. Hope your holiday is delightful. Did you put up your Dept.56 this year? As close to it as I got was thinking about it. Need to put that on the list for next year. 🙂
Hi, Joy. Wow! It sounds like you are sooo busy. Yes, I put up my Snow Village houses. I was able to squeeze in two additional ones on my buffet too. I had picked up one at a summer rummage sale for $2. What a find that was! Setting everything up IS a lot of work. Hopefully, you can find a spare day next year to put them up. Have a great week, Joy. I hope you get your list completed. ❤️
I love this gorgeous outfit and little snowman.
Thanks so much, Nicola. ❤️ Have a great week ahead.
Dear Cindy…it’s WONDERFUL to see you designing and sewing again…and Patience looks like an “honorary” Snowman in her GORGEOUS White Sweater with the Snowman fabric dress! The triple scarves really catch your eye with the bright colors! All in all this is a LOVELY way to celebrate the freshness of this beautiful Christmas Season. Stay WELL and keep SEWING, Cindy! Wishing you and your family, all the BLESSINGS of CHRISTMAS!

Hi, Carol. It’s always wonderful hearing from you! Thank you soo much! Patience is very happy with her holiday ensemble. She’s been so good waiting for me to make a couple of things for her.
Thank you for the Christmas wishes, Carol. I wish you and your family a blessed Christmas and a healthy and happy 2022! ❤️
Hi Cindy, If you and Patience are willing to make a trip I can give you plenty of snow free of charge ! I love the dress print with the snowmen and the yellow background is a bright color in these winter days. It was sweet she wanted to have the same color buttons as the snowmen. I like the 3 scarf look nice color contrast to the rest of the outfit. The snowman is so cute and so much love went into creating him ! Awww such a cute look , Patience protecting her snowman !! As I said, we have plenty of snow and more promised . We were working on our basement Saturday and had a relaxing day after Church Sunday. Wishing you and your family a blessed Christmas , soon and very soon he the savior will be born, Hugs, Terri xo.
Hi, Terri. Ha ha! Thanks for the offer of snow. We are patient–we can wait. I am sure we will get our own. We’re hoping for late February, however, I’m pretty sure we won’t have to wait that long.
Glad to hear your basement remodel is progressing. I’ll bet you’ll all be happy when it is done and you can enjoy it.
Merry Christmas to you and yours, Terri. 🎄❤️
