“Flower Garden Stroll” for Gracie

Hello, friends! I hope you are enjoying spring (or fall). It is going by oh, so fast. I just returned from a trip to Georgia to visit my sister. I hadn’t seen her in 2-1/2 years! We had a wonderful time together catching up. The last time I saw her she treated me to the first Downton Abbey movie and now I treated her to the new one. What timing, eh? Has anyone else seen it yet? We really enjoyed it!

Anyway, on to dolly things… Gracie (my Kaye Wiggs MSD sized BJD) is the guest of honor this month. She is thrilled to show you her new summer ensemble that she will wear for many flower garden strolls. And, she’ll bring along her tiny flower gathering basket too.

Gracie’s cotton dress is in beautiful summer colors: pink, warm red, golden yellow and sky blue. It has a bit of white cotton lace at the hemline and rosy pink grosgrain ribbon tied around her waist.

Gracie’s cardigan is for chilly mornings and is embroidered with florals that coordinate with the dress print. The cardigan can be buttoned up if the wind blows a little too hard.

Gracie’s gathering basket is crocheted with white cotton and has a braided handle. A tiny butterfly appliqué has decided to land on the handle. The garden has already provided Gracie with a colorful selection of flowers to bring home to mom.

Gracie has a matching ribbon tie for her hair. Pastel rosy pink cotton knit anklets and panties (embroidered with a tiny flower) complete the ensemble. Gracie’s summer ensemble was made with love and includes a bracelet with a pink heart charm.

How are you doing? Have you been making anything new, or are simply enjoying the beautiful days? Enjoy the rest of the weekend and holiday if you are in the U.S.

Sending hugs to you from Gracie and I! 🤗❤️

Glad you had fun with sis. So nice to be able to visit now.
Gracie looks like a debutant in her smart spring frock. And the adorable sweater is perfect in case it cools off towards evening. Love that basket or any basket actually. It is perfect for Gracie.
And on to summer! I’ve been sewing here and there and need to get going if any of the dollies around here want a new outfit for the 4th. 🙂
    Happy almost June. 🙂

Thank you, Joy! Yes, on to summer… wow! We still have mornings in the 40s. We feel like spring hasn’t even happened yet here.
I’ll bet your girls will help you get started on sewing for their July 4th outfits. They don’t let us forget them, do they? They will be adorable, I’m sure! ❤️♡💙 Have a great Sunday, Joy!

Thank you, Susan. I’ve had it for years, but perhaps you can find it on etsy. It is Flower Fields by Lecien. I found one listing on etsy for this exact fabric and found out that there are some other lovely color combinations too. https://www.etsy.com/listing/760016975/flower-fields-spring-vibrant-pinkred?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=flower+fields+lecien&ref=sr_gallery-1-25&sts=1&organic_search_click=1

Hi Cindy , good to see you back ! I am so happy you got to visit your sister in Georgia ! It must have been a lovely reunion to be face to face with her again after all that time apart. That was a lovely treat you gave her with the Downton Abbey movie ! I have not seen it as yet. I am glad you both enjoyed it. Awww, Gracie is just adorable in her new ensemble ! It has all the colors of summer for sure. such a pretty print . I always love to see the white lace you usually place at the hemline . Her ribbon is so cute around waist and in her hair. She will have a lovely time picking all the beautiful flowers she finds ! I am doing well, we are so busy , but getting through! Wishing you a beautiful day, big hugs back to you and Gracie, Terri xo.
