“Rose Gardens and Green”

Hello, how are you? Spring busted out all over this past week. We went from winter to summer in no time. This past week was that hot! 🌞 After one week the summery weather is through for awhile though. It’s getting cold again, and soon the rain will become snowflakes. It’s so hard to adjust…

Regardless of the temperature variations, everything is greening up, including Lucy’s new cardigan. I am really loving green lately–such a fresh and down-to-earth color.

Here is Lucy’s sweater that I embroidered with pink roses.

And, here is Lucy wearing it with her new spring dress and accessories.

Lucy is my Little Darling, sculpt #3, painted by Helen Skinner. This happy girl reminds me of the smiling Ruby Red Fashion Friends that Dianna Effner sculpted. They never fail to make me feel a bit happier.

I hope you’ve had a wonderful weekend! Wishing you a great week ahead, my friends. Hopefully, your weather will be better than ours. 🤗

I love the tone of your blog-so very mellow and reminiscing . Lucy looks lovely in her outfit and she herself is lovely as well! Do a o admire your talent, my Mom used to knit a lot and I never asked her to teach me. Trying to pick it up now, I’ll get there!!! I was fortunate to purchase a lot of clothing and amongst it all I found at least one outfit I know you created and discovered pieces of other outfits you made-saw pictures in your past blogs. I have also found one of a kind outfits or pieces of outfits from other doll outfit creators. The person I bought the lot from was not careful to sell complete outfits sadly. Ah well, happy that I have some anyway. Happy Spring-look forward to seeing what you create this year!! Happy Spring.

Happy Spring to you as well! Thank you for reading along and enjoying my blog. Congrats on your doll clothes purchase. That sounds like fun to go through. You have piqued my curiosity though… I am wondering which ensemble and which pieces you found. I am always looking back at my pieces with fondness. That probably sounds silly…
I am confident that you will be able to pick up knitting. There are so many YouTube tutorials, and knitting for dolls keeps it manageable as they are so small. Not a huge time commitment if you were to make a mistake.
      Have a wonderful week!❤️

Love Lucy’s green sweater and dress. And that headband is perfect for her. Lucky girl. 🙂
We’ve been having nice weather here in northern CA. Really trying to get those weeds under control, but takes so much time. Everything is drying out, if you can believe that after our wet winter. If we get some sprinkles Tuesday, as predicted, they will be appreciated. If not, I’ll have to water. No restrictions now as our reservoirs are pretty full. 🙂
Hope your flowers survive the cold streak.

Hi, Joy. Thank you! Lucy sure needs that sweater this morning–it’s snowing… It seems every weather condition has a downside, doesn’t it? It’s beautiful, sunny and warm, but then everything is dry and needs water, except for those weeds (ugh). Weeds are so resilient–ha ha! I hope you get a bit of rain on Tuesday (it makes it easier to pull those weeds, too). Seriously now, that is wonderful news, that your reservoirs are full. It’s been many years, hasn’t it? Enjoy your Monday, Joy! 🤗

    Hi Cindy,
another marvel this outfit. You know, I also sew and knit for my dolls, I love it so much ! I particularly love your embroidered cardigans and as I am in France as you know, you are an inspiration for me to embroider my cardigans too, maybe not as well as you, yours are perfect ! 🙂

Hi, Patricia. Your dolls are so sweet. They are adorable.
I’d say that embroidering on sweaters is the most tedious part of creating an ensemble. I like to procrastinate that step.😉 Once I get going though, it isn’t so bad. It’s wonderful that you are inspired to give it a try.

Hello Cindy !! You and I had the same weather last week . On Wednesday and Thursday it was in the high 80s and then by Saturday afternoon it was low 30s and snow again all the way into Sunday , Crazy weather !! The last 2 days have been rain… so I hope April showers will bring what they promise in May !! Lucy is so happy in her dress and cardigan, I would be too in that pretty combination. I am glad all your girls make you happy too ! Have a beautiful weekend, and to the girls, Terri 💕🌷🌺

Hello, Terri. Spring can be such a fickle month. Giving of beautiful weather one week, and then taking it away the next. I think we’ll have a pretty nice day today–hope you do, too.
Thank you for the compliment on Lucy’s new ensemble. The smile has remained on her face, so I think she is happy with it. 😉
Wishing you a weekend filled with some, at least some, lovely weather and fun moments–many of those.❤️
