It’s Still Coming Down!

The television meteorologists were all wrong!  We were supposed to get up to 7″ of snow, and instead we got about 12″—and it’s still coming down, heavier than ever!  This is a February snowstorm, wet and heavy.  Luckily we were able to cancel our plans and call it a “snow day”, so a stay-at-home day for us.

Here is a photo of our front walk two days ago.

Bye for now (from the north pole, just kidding)!

Starting the Weekend Off Early

I got up early this morning to finish knitting a sweater dress and surprisingly caught sight of the beautiful sunrise.

sunrise 300I guess I needed a little break from Christmas colors because I picked up this ball of hot pink wool a couple of days ago.  I am almost finished, a few more rows to go.  This is for the Little Darlings and it is the same style as the winter white sweater dress I just showed you yesterday in the group shot (minus the “fur” trim).

11-07-15 303Now, back to Christmas… this is the fabric that I will be using next.  I think that I am going to make a white mohair sweater to go with it.

11-07-15 305In 2013 I used this same fabric for this Little Darling ensemble, so the white mohair sweater will be a totally different look.

Everyone, enjoy the weekend!

Bye for now!

More Fall Color

Today was a beautiful fall day!  The fall colors seemed oh, so vibrant and probably are at their peak.  As I was outside with my camera, I couldn’t help but think about the smoky air from the leaves being burned, the gentle slightly crisp breeze, and the wispy clouds floating in the very blue sky.

fall mid oct. 2015 887The feral cat that we feed just finished her breakfast, but was talking to me.  She probably wanted more moist food.  We always put a dollop of moist food on top of her kibble, which isn’t her favorite.  I suspect that the other two or more feral cats around here come around at night and clean up the remaining kibble.  This little girl, though, rules the roost, and we’ve heard her putting up a stink when the others come by and she’s around.
