Some Hugs

…from dear, sweet, Patience.

It’s been a while since my Patience has been featured in a post and I was starting to feel bad.  Am I a bad doll mom?  Maybe…ugh…okay, okay, no more guilt.

Here she is…

…in all of her whimsical cuteness!

I think this ensemble matches Patience’s personality perfectly, don’t you?  The sunny and warm cotton print features lots and lots of different heart motifs and little lovey dovey birdies, such fun to look at, if you can take your eyes off of her cute face, that is.

Patience’s dress looks pretty without the cardigan too.

You won’t see too many of my crocheted pieces with embroidery. For me, embroidering on crochet is touch and go because the crocheted fabric is “bumpy” and it’s hard to get the stitches to lay on top of the fabric. However, when the pieces work out, like this headband, I really like the look.

Our Summer Garden

I am back from a wonderfully long and very relaxing vacation.  I was able to spend time with my entire family and have many memories that I will always treasure.

I returned home last Tuesday and am still finding my way back to where I left off four weeks ago.  Am getting there little by little…

I started “Our Summer Garden” for Patience and Amelia Thimble before I left, did some knitting while away, and was able to finish it up within this last week at home.

Just like my flower garden this sister set is in full bloom and oh, so colorful.  Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Patience’s sweater and Amelia Thimble’s soft and cuddly dress/hat are knit with lace weight mohair silk yarn.  The embroidery coordinates with the colors in the cotton print used for the dress.

I pulled out some of my vintage paper flowers which were the perfect color of blue and attached a pink silk ribbon bow for a sweet little bouquet.

While on vacation my sister let me raid her bead stash… so fun… Patience has a bracelet from my scavenging.  Thanks, sis!  You’re the best!

Patience & Izzy’s New Sister Set

Patience and Izzy are feeling so sweet and rosy in their new coordinating outfits.  Patience and Izzy’s cardigan, sweater dress, and hat and are knit in fine lace weight baby alpaca/silk yarn.  It is very soft and has a nice drape to it.  I hand dyed the yarn for Izzy’s set to pick up the blue in Patience’s floral print dress.  Patience’s hat is crocheted in three natural fibers with a brim that can be worn up or down.  The dress’s fabric is a fine cotton print from Japan and features the prettiest pastel flowers and ribbons in pinks, sky blue, green, and yellow.  I used hand dyed silk ribbon and fine English cotton cluny lace for special touches in this coordinating set.
