Some New Things for Amelia Thimble

Lately I have been very busy knitting and embroidering for tiny Amelia Thimble.  She has had quite a busy year modeling for me.  Too busy, in fact.  Poor Amelia is quite exhausted.  I had to do something for her.  Last week I hired another model, Izzy, to help out Amelia.  Soon you will see Izzy modeling my little dresses too.  Not only is Amelia happy to have help with modeling, she is thrilled to have a new friend who is just like her.

Patience & Amelia Thimble Model New Sister Set

Wilde Imagination’s Patience and Amelia Thimble dolls are here to show you their brand new sister set that I just completed for them.  I used this corduroy print once last year making an outfit for Helen Kish’s Bethany doll and loved working with these colors so much that I decided to use it again for Patience.  Of course if Patience gets a new outfit then Amelia gets a coordinating set too.  The embroidery on this set is a different stitch for me.  Because the flowers are pastel on a darker yarn I had to make them more solid so they would show up nicely.  I put a lazy daisy stitch around straight stitches and was very happy with the end result.  Does anyone know if this stitch has a name?

Patsy’s New Fall Outfit

Tonner’s Patsy doll has a new sweater and skirt set that she wants to model for you.  I tried something different this time and made her a gathered skirt with an a-line sweater.  This corduroy print is so pretty with so many different fall colors.

I picked out seven colors of wool for the sweater.  Who could pick just one???  Yes, the weaving in of the ends was a lot of work, but well worth the effort, don’t you think?  I thoughtfully arranged the stripes to look their best and got to repeat the first three colors once more.  The sleeves and body came out the perfect length (and exactly the same!) which made me very happy.  I felt like I had good knitting karma (or the knitting gods) with this one.
