I am . . . as long as I am staying inside. It’s still very cold here in northern Illinois, but it has warmed up a bitty bit from the negative minus twenty-something wind chills. I still haven’t been able to get outside for a walk though—same old story as last time. Oh well… maybe soon, I hope.
I forgot to wish you all a very happy 2018, so Happy New Year!!! I hope it’s a great year for everyone; we all need one of those.
Have you noticed the moon lately? One night we watched the full moon rise in the east and the next morning saw it setting in the west at daybreak. For some reason it seemed quite wonderful to me; I’ve never noticed it before like that.
The sunset that evening was pretty noteworthy pictureworthy too!
I am still knitting socks. This is my third sock… and it’s not a mere test sock; it will have a mate. This one got finished yesterday—it fits my daughter, and the second sock was started today. Yay. This was made from Susan B. Anderson’s Crafty class, “My First Toe-Up Socks”. I used Knit Picks Stroll Tweed Sock yarn in Garnet Heather. I am still perfecting the fit for the next pair. I think the size large would fit my daughter even better with the foot about a 1/4″ longer. These fit me perfectly though, so this will be my pattern when I get to knitting a pair for me. 🙂
My Little Darlings have been calling to me. I think they want new sweater coats with cute li’l pockets for their tiny snow people to snuggle in. Here are Gina and Lucy wearing sweater coats from last winter. They really do look toasty warm, don’t they? I need to get my needles busy.

Love the moon and sunset pictures. We’ve been having some great sunrises with those same orange glow colors. Except for today. Some rain. Not much or nearly enough but it is at least damp.

A new dolly is coming my way. All paid for, so presume it should be shipped soon. It is going to be my LD Hawaiian girl by Geri Uribe. I think I am about maxed out on these little cuties. My Patti from My Meadow should be here in maybe late February or March. Have to find her a cute wig as she wears an 8/9 and no one else has a head that size around here. The little Linda Macario cupcake order is up soon. I’m trying so hard not to hit the buy key.

Hi, Joy. Just returned from a wedding in Naples, FL. It was sweater weather there too, but way, way warmer than here. Although the freezing rain last night warmed things up here and caused some wonderful delays at O’Hare—at least we got home…early this morning, very tired though, still got up early.
How exciting to be getting another LD. I have totally lost count of how many you have. It sounds like you will have one of every possible look you could want. Think I’m passing on L.M.’s Cupcake. Penny is sorely neglected as it is. I need to work on that; she’s such a cutie.

Hi, Gwyn. Yes, it is lovely to stay home in our cozy homes on cold days. I hope you were able to get home quickly at least. We don’t have Christmas taken down either. On this Monday morning, it is finally much warmer here, although icy now. Yay! Hopefully you are getting the positive degrees too.

Hi Cindy, I am trying to stay warm but it has been down to -15 here and -30 windchill this week , but you have to dress in layers. Its always nice to see the wonders of nature and the moon is a big part of it. Love the cute socks , Your daughter will be thinking what a wonderful mom she has every time she puts them on ! Hi, Terri. I really feel bad for all of you who live north of me. I don’t know how you do it! Some days it is so hard to even take a breath; you must have to cover your entire face when you go out. However, we are LOTS warmer this Monday morning—hope you are too.
My girls have been neglected for weeks now. Another week of holiday break, then back to normal. I’m glad they are all VERY patient with me. Gina and Lucy say “thank you” and ❤ .

Here in Australia we are experiencing the opposite of weather conditions to you. Right now we have 40deg Celsius / 104 farenhight. Thank goodness for air conditioning. It is too hot to be outside for too long. At least I can still knit with the cool air conditioning. ☺💞

What does 104 degrees feel like? Do you get the humidity too? It rarely gets that hot here in the summertime. It’s funny how we’re both needing to stay indoors but for opposite reasons. Stay cool today!

Yes 104deg is very hot and also, it has been very humid which saps the energy out of you. We are still experiencing the heatwave conditions, it has been a week now. A place I used to live in had 47.5 Celsius / 117.5 farenhight two days ago. Glad I don’t live there anymore. Looks like we are going to have a very hot Country Music Festival in a couple of weeks. It will test the stamina of the visitors, especially the ones who will be camping. No rain forecast in the horizon.
