Welcome Fall

welcome fall 970Hello to all and a big welcome to fall to those of us in the northern hemisphere.  Not sure how I feel about fall arriving, to be honest.  It feels too soon.  With the exception of a couple of cooler mornings it still feels quite summery around here–hot and humid and sticky.

We’ve had tons of rain too.  Mushrooms!  I find them so interesting, for some strange reason.  And when I see them I must take their picture. 🙂

My last two ensembles were traveling to their new homes last week.  I hope they look beautiful on the little girls who have received them.  My Gina and Alice hope so!

My daughter (her to study) and I spent last Friday afternoon at the local coffee shop.  I was having a hard time getting excited about weaving in ends and sewing on buttons at home.  A yummy cup of cappuccino, warm sunlight, and a change of scenery did the trick.  A couple of hours here and my chores were done.

I hope you all have a lovely first week of this new season (autumn or spring)!  Thank you for visiting with me!  Sending you a hug from Illinois!

Hi, Susette. Hmm, what is it about mushrooms!? I love those red capped ones with spots, although we do not have those here in the midwest. Thank you, Susette. ❤

My Ruthie loves her new blossomy sprinkles dress! You should have seen her face when I told her it was especially for her. Her jaw dropped with disbelief and then the big smile came. She immediately tried it on. Fortunately she had just gotten out of the bath after a long day of playing outside. I had a difficult time convincing her not to wear it to bed. She says to tell you she loves her new on-som-a-ball so so so much! And you have a fond place in my heart too!

What a grand idea to find a new location to complete sewing details. Maybe I should bundle up all of the dolly outfits without snaps on the back and take them along next cabin trip. Now that we have installed some new lights, sewing may once again become an option there. 🙂 Thanks for the idea.
We’re having extreme heat and wind here in northern CA, for the next couple of days and have a power shut off alert. This should not be fun.

Hi, Joy. I hope new surroundings help you get those unpleasant tasks done too. The Barbie clothes my mom made for me would sit and sit awaiting snaps. Or so it seemed that way–I’m sure I wanted to play with the clothes immediately. Hot windy days without electricity don’t sound like much fun. I hope it is short lived. Not sure how a power shut off works. Is it 100% of the time or less? Anyway, I hope no fires start up from the wind and heat. ❤

Beautiful photography, Cindy, and I love how you wrapped your latest creations! You are so very artistic and know how to make a beautiful statement, whatever you are showing!💐
It does feel too warm yet to be fall, but today is the first day and here’s hoping the weather will finally catch up!🍁

Hi, Linda. Thank you. I really enjoy wrapping up the little dolly ensembles to send off. I imagine they are fun to open. Today ended up being a gorgeous day. The humidity was gone, the temp went down a little, and the sun was shining.<3

Hi, Eleanor. We found this mug at TJ Maxx about a month ago. I’d imagine they are long gone, but who knows. Happy hunting! I hope you find one!

Hi Cindy , I love your fall theme coffee cup ! It has been similar weather here , we are not too far apart really. Oh wow a lot of mushrooms! I will look at them but please do not ask me to eat one !! Oh my the packaging is so cute and a photo of how the outfit looks. The Girls are going to be sooo excited !! So nice to have time with your Daughter. That was nice to take your sewing and weaving to the coffee shop . A change of scenery is all that is needed sometimes ! Sending hugs across Wisconsin to northern Illinois , I know you are pretty close to Chicago so about 5.5 hours from me ! Have a beautiful day , Terri xo.

Hi, Terri. My sister cannot stand mushrooms either and I’d imagine these are poisonous. Most wild ones could be, no? I have no idea. You mentioned how nice it was to have time with my daughter. A couple of days later I thought to myself how special that time was, and how it would be one of those simple times I remember. Those are the special things (times), aren’t they? We are minutes away from the WI/IL border–one of the most northern suburbs of Chicago. No, 5 hours is not too far–we’re practically neighbors, midwest neighbors. Have a beautiful day, Terri. ❤

    Bonjour Cindy,

Hello, Mariepaule. Thank you for writing and admiring my work. I, too, love looking at others' photos that I find inspiring. I am sorry my patterns are not in French. I am not able to translate them (and be 100% sure they are accurate) at this time. Have a wonderful day. ❤
