It’s the Christmas Season!

Hello from yet another dreary day in northern Illinois.  Although it is not too cold and NO SNOW!–only frosty rooftops this morning.  (I will not complain.)  So many of you have LOTS of SNOW and COLD!  Anyway… it is cozy and warm inside.

Christmas is fast approaching!  Because we were out of town on our usual tree farm day (day after Thanksgiving), we don’t have our tree yet!  We did get our Snow Village put up this year though.  We (my dear husband) divided the houses up between the dining room and family room.  This way we can enjoy them in two different areas of the house.

Here are some pics from the dining room display.  Two houses, a church, the flower shop, and ice rink are set up on the buffet cabinet across from the dining table.  While in the living room we can look over and enjoy them.

I set up my camera on a tripod for the following pics.  It was quite dark, so the exposures were long.  The images came out cozy and dreamy, love that.

Two of my Little Darling ensembles are on their way to dress two Little Darling girls in new finery for the 2019 holiday.  I enjoyed packing them up and tying the parcels with coordinating yarn.

My two Little Darlings, Alice and Gina, are still dressed in their holiday ensembles in my sewing room.  If you are shopping for something new they are still available.  Alice and Gina wouldn’t mind sharing 🙂 .  Look for the specifics for these ensembles under the ‘Available’ tab above.

Not sure what I am doing today.  Definitely no traipsing through a tree farm.  My back has been giving me a little trouble, so I just want to sit the day away as sitting is pain free and walking isn’t.  Back pain is a bother.  *ugh*

What are you doing today?  Any Christmas prep going on by you?

Oh, you inspire me. The Dept 56 around here are still in their boxes. If we were to put them up, it would involve a major packing issue as the available spaces are current full with things from the home of the parents of other person. Some lovely pieces though I’ll admit. Love your long exposure photos. A winter wonderland for sure. Isn’t it fun to see all of the house lights in the village? Brings back memories of long ago when our girls would rearrange the vehicles into collisions. 🙂
Thank you so much for sharing your photos.

Hi, Joy. Well, you inspired me… to put them up in the first place. Actually, my husband ended up with the honors while I grocery shopped last weekend. He did good, right?

I’ve always loved the houses all lit up too, but have wanted to peek in the windows and see a family in there or a Christmas tree in the living room.

That’s funny about your girls causing havoc in your town, little rascals.

I’m glad you enjoyed the photos. I’ll have to take some of the downstairs village. Have a great week, Joy! ❤

Hi Cindy, It is a dreary weekend here too with a permenant ( I Think!)blanket of snow on the ground . It is cosy inside here though. Your Christmas village is fabulous !! It puts ours to shame, I do want to add to ours though. I will post pics hopefully next week. The tripod pics are really beautiful. Alice and Gina are adorable as usual in their knit dresses with all the accessories. I hope you did get to sit and rest your back. I don’t have much back pain yet but I know from family members it is not nice. Today it is Church , The feast of the immaculate conception is on Sunday this year , and mostly relaxation ( I hope!) Have a great day Dear, Terri xo.

Hi, Terri. I’d love to see your village, please do share photos. I am sure it is cozy, and just lovely.

Thank you! All of my Little Darling are currently without clothes. They have been generous again this year, and are sharing with other Little Darlings all over the country.

Yes, back pain isn’t fun. Not sure what brought this on. I was seeing a chiropractor for neck pain. He fixed that, but now I have back pain. *sigh* I think if I’d been asked I would have kept the neck pain over the back pain. Every time I take a step it’s painful. lol Anyway, I’m sure I’ll heal. I’ve had back pain before.

It was very pretty in church today. The pastor uses blue instead of purple for advent. It was very regal looking–the shades of blue mixed with gold accents.

I hope your were able to relax today, Terri, and rest up for the week ahead. ❤

I will take pics for next weeks post Cindy! I really want to add to it so that can be a goal for 2020. Aww your Girls are so giving in their sharing with others, i am sure they learned from you! I really feel for you and the back pain, I will pray for a fast recovery in healing. I have never seen the blue vestments for advent but I am sure they looked nice with the gold. I did get some relax time and rest, thank you . Now it is Monday again! Have a beautiful week Cindy, Terri xo.
