It’s the Week-End

Hello to you. How are you? Thank you for all the well wishes. ❤ You are wonderful and kind! It turns out I have a little infection which was causing my elevated temperature. My doctor prescribed an antiobiotic and I am feeling better. What a relief! My heart goes out to all those who are battling covid. It’s sure is scary.

Mid week I started writing a knitting pattern for a Little Darling’s striped ear flap hat. I am going to include a video link with the pattern that will help with certain steps such as picking up stitches for the ear flaps, the i-cord ties, changing colors for the stripes, making jogless stripes, etc.

Here is my first test piece from my messy notebook. I am writing the pattern and will knit another hat from that to make sure it is all correct. The stripes can be changed in height to the knitter’s liking. I have a page in the pattern with a shaped graph for coloring. 🙂

Yesterday, I started embroidering the above pink sweater coat. I started taking some video embroidering the bullion roses. I recorded how I start–motif placement and motif design. Still more to do with this.

Today I published a You Tube video showing how I embroidered the apples on Lucy’s blue mohair cardigan. I must say that embroidering this sweater was more ripping out than stitching–not so much the apples, but the blossoms. Sometimes those little embroidery fairies aren’t available to help me. (lol) This video is only about embroidering the apples. Future videos will show embroidering other motifs.

So, that’s been my week work-wise since Wednesday or so.

wiMy husband had a birthday this week. My daughter and I managed to find some gifts to order for hime online… and they arrived in time. Always a plus! We baked him a pumpkin cheesecake with a pecan crust–very yummy. We also did our first carry out meal since forever. I don’t even think I’ve eaten out before this this year–no lie!

Sending you happy wishes for a great weekend. ❤ What are you up to… or making? Please share if you’d like to.

    Good morning Cindy.
I am pleased to hear that you are feeling much better.
I have had an enjoyable spring week here in Australia.
I have been out in the garden, transplanting, pruning and feeding the plants. Set up a temporary shade house for my undercover potted plants so they could benefit from the beautiful and much needed constant rain we are experiencing at the moment.
I have also been busy with my craft. One of my creations I made a number of years ago is getting a new look and a new wig. She is a German antique reproduction (but also looks lovely being dressed in modern outfits) named Hilda. I loved this doll (one of my favourites) and have created quite a few of them from a couple of inches to 20 inches in size, with baby or toddler bodies. This particular Hilda is 14” tall and is full porcelain on a toddler body.
I have knitted the cardigan and headband ear warmer, from your patterns, from a ball of cream angora yarn that I have had for many years. Still have to do the embroidery . I found a gorgeous piece of Cotten fabric which is bright yellow and covered in tiny 🐝 in flight and finished off with silver glitter on their wings. I am about to go to my craft room and start working on the dress.
I hope you have a lovely weekend.
    Take care
    Wendy

Hi, Wendy. I hope your weekend ended up being a productive one. The new ensemble you are making for Hilda will be cute. It’s the perfect season to celebrate our hard working li’l bees. That angora sounds yummy. I have never worked with angora, but I think I’d love it–so soft.
I think spring is my favorite season–all promise and hope with new growth. I could handle spring again and totally bypass winter. *sigh*
It’s been a busy weekend here. My daughter and I are about to take our little dog out for a walk. ❤ Thank you for writing, Wendy. I have loved hearing what you've been up to.

So glad to hear your infection wasn’t Covid. Not that an infection is fun, but must have made you glad it wasn’t the other.
Pretty cool here today. Must get those furnace filters changed. And we’re on for a major wind advisory starting tomorrow afternoon. Extreme fire danger yet again. Quite a few folks are having their power turned off too as a preventative measure. But, so far looks like ours will remain on. Just wish we had some rain to damper everything and make it less fire prone.
My Linda Macario Mia arrived the other day. Such a cutie. 🙂

Hi, Joy. I hope some rain is in your future too. You sure do need it in CA. I’ll bet you’re enjoying the cooler weather at least.
Lucky you! Mia is a cutie! Enjoy her!
Wishing you a very nice Sunday. ❤

Enjoyed watching you embroidery the apples on the sweater. Your stitches are so smooth and I like the way you tie off and knot the back (not messy like mine). I am getting close to finishing my sweater and excited about trying to put flowers on my little sweater. Take care and stay safe.

Who would have thought you would be celebrating a minor infection? Such good news in these scary times.
You certainly have been a busy lady. Your bullion’s are just amazing, especially when you are creating them on a knit .
The weekend is nearly over so let me wish you a peaceful, productive week.☺️
