A New Knitting Pattern

Hi there! I hope this week is going good for you. It’s going fine over here. I think we are on day #8, and the last day, of really warm November weather. It has been nice, but it is starting to feel a little bit weird. I hate to say this, but I am looking forward to more seasonal temperatures. Remind me I said this when I am complaining about the cold. 🙄

Sunday night I finished up *gasp* a knitting pattern! It’s been so long–I’ve been way too lazy, sorry if you’ve been waiting for more. I have ideas, but it is SO much work putting the designs onto paper, or virtual paper I should say. It’s hard getting into pattern writing mode, but when the pattern is done I am very happy it’s out there for you.

Over the years I have been asked to put my ear flap hat into pattern form. It’s specifically designed for the Little Darlings who wear a 7″-8″ wig, but this should fit other dolls with the same sized head.

The Ear Flap Hat pattern is different from my last ones in that it includes a video link to illustrate steps where visuals could help make the steps clearer. I am a visual learner–I know many of us are; I am hoping this video is quite helpful. There are clickable time stamps in the video’s description so that you can click and go to the exact place in the video that you need to go to–no jumping around randomly.

Now that this pattern sample is made I must get the rest of this outfit created. What are you working on this week?

Alice and I are sending you a virtual hug. 🤗 Stay safe. 💛

New Year, New Pattern, New Ensemble!

By now it is 2017 everywhere in the world, so a Happy New Year to all!

My husband and I went for a brisk walk in one of the nearby forest preserves today.  The paths were a little treacherous in places, but we were careful and the sun felt so nice.  It was the perfect way to start 2017!

My Little Darling, Lucy, is also here with her bright, smiling face (and her itty bitty snow baby) to wish you all the happiest start to 2017!  Before most of our snow melted last week Lucy and I made this tiny snow baby. She is still trying to decide if this snow baby is a boy or girl, so she can give it an appropriate name.

While outside she told me that her new sweater coat, hat, and scarf kept her toasty warm.

Lucy is wearing a dress made out of my most favorite snowman print.  I LOVE this print!  It’s colorful and a little bit primitive looking.  There are “zillions” of snowmen lined up on this fabric; all looking equally cute, don’t you think?  Snowman lovers will find this print adorable.

I previously used this fabric in 2014 (“Snowman Luv”) to make an ensemble for Gina.  I decided to make it less Christmasy this time, so it could be worn more as a winter ensemble.

Isn’t this the cutest fabric!  I think they are the happiest little snowmen!

Lucy’s ensemble will be available Monday, January 2, 2017 at 7:00 pm CST on my website.

“My Little Snow Baby” is a one-of-a-kind ensemble, but if you’d like to knit your own sweater coat, the pattern is available on Ravelry.  The instructions include a step-by-step guide to add your own patch pockets.  Once you see how easy they are to make, you’ll be putting patch pockets on everything! (lol)

Thank you for visiting with me as we start this new year together.  Bye for now!

New Knitting Pattern

Hello from blustery northern Illinois.  The weather change is happening.  It’s been springlike the last couple of days and we may get snow flurries tomorrow.  Our weather is rarely boring!

I thought I’d put Penny’s latest cardigan from “Christmas Love” into pattern form for all of your chilly Penny and Polly girls.

In case you don’t knit, her OOAK ensemble is available right now!

My number one goal for the evening is to keep our chihuahua from blowing away when he goes out to do his business.  LOL!  Hope you have a great evening!  Bye for now!
