I’m shouting this from the rooftops, “The sun is out today!” After 6 straight days of fog and gloom, we’ve got a beauty. And the icing on the cake is that it’s 55°F (13°C), but I must say it feels like 70°F (21°C). Woo hoo! Where I live, these days are a rare occurrence in January. I hope you are enjoying beautiful weather today as well.
I couldn’t let today go by without a few photos. Notice the harsh shadows, so very sunny.

Our grass is still quite green for January. It feels like spring is right around the corner. Ha!
I almost have Patsy’s “Light Cardigan” knitting pattern ready to be published. The sample I knit up for the pattern was part of my “Blossoms for my Love-ly” ensemble. There will be a short sleeve option in the instructions as well.
I’ve just begun a “Light Cardigan” pattern for the Little Darlings too. This one will have three length options with shaping for a nice a-line shape that flows along the body. I’ll also have three sleeve length options in the instructions, so a total of 9 different possibilities will be available with this pattern.
Our resident feral kitty was soaking up some sun today.

It’s their Aloft (mohair/silk lace weight). It takes a little while to get used to, but is very forgiving if your stitches aren’t perfect (which mine aren’t). I’m glad you’re enjoying the patterns. ❤

Wow, looks like spring!! So happy you have some sun. Here in sunny CA, it’s raining yet again. Just on and off so we were able to get out for a walk at least.
Little feral one looks so innocent and sweet. (Ha Ha) Where does she/he/it sleep in the winter? Just curious.
So glad you’re on track for the patterns. I just figured out that I have been knitting sort of backwards. Was watching a video and found I’ve been putting the needle in from the front of the stitch instead of the back of the stitch. So now I’m practicing doing rows from the back. If that makes any sense at all. Maybe I will actually have something to show one day in the far future.
Uncle’s 90th birthday is tomorrow at his house just a few blocks away. Should be a fun party.
So sorry you have another dreary day, Joy. Maybe tomorrow will be better for the birthday party. How can Mother Nature rain on a 90-year olds birthday party!?
I’ve heard of people knitting the way you do. As long as you are consistent I think it works, never tried it though.
I don’t know where feral kitty goes, she’s very secretive. lol Her fur is scraped off on her back so she scoots underneath a board somewhere. When the weather is bad we won’t even see her. We’ve been feeding another feral. He’s huge! Looks like he might be part Maine Coon; he has close set eyes and sounds like a baby when he meows. Anyway, he almost got stuck between the slats on our deck yesterday. I chuckled… he eats A LOT.
Those Maine Coons can be huge. Our Charlie was a MC, but not big. Lived a very long life too. Do they micro chip in your area? Lots of cats have turned up here lost and being fed (fortunately). There is a vet who scans for chips for free so a lot have been reunited. I understand that they become very dependent on their food sources too. However, we just dole out treats to the neighbors cats who have no one at home during the day. We often sit out on the deck with the two cats just laying around in the sun (when it isn’t raining.) From two different houses, and they get along just fine. We’ll often look out the slider and see both cats with noses pressed against the glass WATCHING with big eyes for any movement towards the kitchen. Weird cat people we are. 🙂

His ear is clipped, so he’s been to the vet. I don’t think they microchip the ferals here. Some ladies way down the block have taken care of the colony (and still do). I guess the stragglers wander over by me. The grey tabby has been around since we moved here 8 years ago. Her ear is clipped too, but I can see how she wanted to leave the colony as she doesn’t get along well with others, she’s a tough one.
