Hello there! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! I am looking out my window on this April 15th morning… Mother Nature, what are you thinking?!
It snowed all day long yesterday. We ended up with 8 inches of snow–a lot for mid April.
My husband and daughter had some fun yesterday and brought this life sized snowman to life. (Poor thing has already lost his eyes and mouth–he’s melting!) But, look how cute he was yesterday! They had fun!
In anticipation of the snowstorm we picked all of our daffodils Saturday night that we didn’t think would survive the heavy wet snow. I’m glad we did as they really brighten up the house and remind us that it is indeed spring.
Dolly News!
My PukiPuki Sugar has a new dress/hat set. She loves it, and wanted to show you–and also to say hello.
Her hat was one of the samples I knit from my newly published Amelia Thimble Hat Set Pattern. The pattern is available on Ravelry.
Below is a slideshow of past hats made using these patterns. They each use tiny amounts of lace weight yarn, so you can use up little bits to create you own tiny hat wardrobe.
I love your sweaters and hats. They make me use my imagination to make things for fun.
Hi, Mavis. Yay! That makes me happy. 🙂
Love Mr. Snowman! Perhaps, he was standing too near the fire pit last night and started melting. 🙂
Great save on the daffodils! Ours have already bloomed and are now gaining energy for next year. We do have both a lilac bush and lilac tree in bloom though. I think I would rather see that lovely snow than the tons of weeds that have sprung up everywhere from the heavy winter rains around here. Much work to be done.
Sugar is such a star in her sweet little outfit. And your patterns remarkable. Gave up on trying to learn to knit for now, but maybe someday.
Enjoy the last of the snow while it lasts. 🙂
Ha… and I think I’d rather see your healthy weeds than our snow… It really has warmed up this afternoon. The snowman’s head has fallen off, and the rest of him is at about a 45 degree angle. Poor thing! Glad you like the pattern–maybe someday you’ll catch the knitting bug and try again. I’m enjoying watching the snow melt! Wonder if the magnolia blossoms will bloom after getting frozen. Thanks, Joy. ❤
