Wow! This month has flown by! Do you agree? Tiny Amelia Thimble would like to say Happy Halloween to you! She hopes it is a fun and safe day for all trick-or-treaters. It will be a bit different for us this year. We will be putting candy in plastic bags and spreading them out on the driveway so everyone can stay safe–lots of space and only touching their own treat. Hope it works.
More about Amelia’s Halloween ensemble on this 2014 post.
This past week I finished up Alice’s ensemble so now all three of my Little Darlings are wearing new outfits. They don’t necessarily coordinate, but that’s okay; they are very excited to ALL have a chance to show you their new fall finery. Smiles and happiness all around; this trio doesn’t get many picture taking opportunities.
Yesterday evening I published a video, embroidering bullion roses. If you’d like to watch me embroider the two-rose motif on Alice’s pink sweater coat then this one is for you. 🙂 I’ve been wanting to show you this for a LONG time. Finally…
Let me know what you think, or if there is something I missed.
I think I forgot to mention this next video. In it I am trying to decide which fabric for Alice’s dress. I know I asked all of you–thank you so much for your suggestions. It’s so much fun for me to hear your opinions! As I looked back I saw that I had already used a couple of these fabrics for Little Darling dresses and one I even used twice. I ended up picking one I hadn’t used before for these dolls.
Today I am going to start knitting the hat which will be the first sample for the Little Darling Ear Flap Hat pattern. It’s a beautiful day, so I’ll definitely get out for a walk with the pup… and maybe do a little vacuuming. That will most likely take me to dinner time.
I wish you all a great weekend! Stay safe and enjoy! 🎃 Thank you for visiting with me today. 🧡 I’d love to know how your town is doing Halloween this year. Bye for now…

Thank you for your wishes for a good weekend … With us in France..Halloween will be very compromised, we are in confinement …. I really like your little Amélia’s outfit, I have one that has one slight defect, his legs at the knees bend all the time pff !!! but I like it very much anyway …. Congratulations on your outfits, thank you for the videos … even if I don’t speak English I manage to follow …. Good evening Fanfan
Bonjour, Fanfan.
Hello, Fanfan. It’s very sad for the children to miss trick or treating. They love it so much. Hopefully, by next year everything is back to normal and we can appreciate it all the more.
I am glad you can follow my blog a little bit. I know it’s hard–I don’t speak French at all. I wish I did though. Your language is beautiful. My daughter took four years of French in high school, but doesn’t remember much to help me.
My Amelia’s legs are the same as yours. I took a straight pin and slid it in vertically down the back of her knees without going through the elastic.
I hope you are enjoying the weekend!
So fun to see Amelia. Such a cute one. 🙂
Your LD’s look very sweet in their new outfits. I’m sure they are thrilled.
Halloween trick or treating is not encouraged here this year, so we’re not doing it. We will take some treats over to the neighbor boys though.
Happy Halloween, Joy. That is so nice that you will bring treats next door. They will love that! Hopefully next year is back to business as usual.
Thanks for keeping in touch. 🧡
Cindy could I please ask if you used all six strands of thread when you did the rose? Thank you. In Scotland no trick or treating, but the schools have asked the young children to dress up in their outfits today.
Hello. I use a 20-30 inch single strand and then fold it in half. So it ends up being a double strand. If you are only doing a couple of stitches the 20 inch will be enough otherwise I’d go with the 30 inches of thread approximately. I show in my video how I start my strand so I don’t have to make a knot.
That’s good that the children can dress up at school at least. I’m sure some candy was given out too???
Enjoy the weekend. 🧡
I love these videos . They are a great help.
Thank you so much for letting me know, Mavis. I really appreciate the feedback. I hope you’re having a great weekend. 🧡
The roses continue to amaze me. The control you have over a knit fabric is something else. Practice, practice, practice really does show in your work. Well done!
What kind words to uplift me this morning!!! Thank you, Marian.
I hope you are enjoying the first week in this new month. We are enjoying very warm and sunny weather this week. It is so nice! Wish I could bottle it up… Hugs to you! 🧡 Take care!
Hello Cindy, how are you doing? Like has been busy lately but I’m happy to arrive back at your blog! Thank you so much Amelia for the Halloween wishes, we did do some trick or treating but it wasn’t the same as other years. That was a great idea leaving the candy in bags . fabulous work on Alice’s outfit , all the girls look adorable. Great job on publishing the videos! I will have to look at them later. I hope the weather is holding up there, we have had 2 snow storms giving us 11 inches of snow so far. Wishing you a great day Cindy,Terri xo.
Hi, Terri. I’m happy to hear from you, thank you for writing. That’s great that you were able to get out for a little trick or treating at least–a little normalcy during these crazy times, right?
I’m still enjoying making my You Tube videos. I hope it is helping with doll clothes sewing. Wow! You seem to be in the middle of winter already. We’ve had flurries a couple of times, but not much at all. Today it is cold rain after some flurries this morning. It’s very raw out there right now–good day to be inside.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, Terri. ❤
It was nice to getout to continue the Halloween experience. I’m so happy for you making videos to help others ! Winter has left us again, It was 50 yesterday!
