Let’s Reminisce–Holiday Ensembles for Millie Through the Years

My tiny Kaye Wiggs Millie arrived during the 2014 Christmas season. She was, and still is, a special one indeed–a tiny elfin face with the cutest hands I had ever seen. I promptly made her her very first ensemble befitting of her enchanting personality. It was called “Make a Christmas Wish”.

Then for the 2015 Christmas season she got two holiday ensembles. One a little fancier with “Cozy Christmas Color” and the other more comfy casual with, “My Forever Snowman”.

For the first she wore lace tights and a fuzzy mohair/silk cardigan with botanical embroidery. To keep her playful nature, though, she wore a Santa hat atop her carrot mohair bob.

For her second 2015 ensemble Millie wore a beautiful aqua blue sweater dress that came with a perfectly adorned and coordinated snowman. I think “My Forever Snowman” proved to be Millie’s favorite.

In 2016 Millie wore a vintage inspired ensemble, “Toasty Warm Holiday”. It included a vintage looking headband ear warmer and a fuzzy muff. This ensemble was all about fuzzy snowy-looking pieces with vintage flair.

And for Millie’s last holiday ensemble (to date) she wore another ensemble that included a snowman; this time a little needle felted snowman. This ensemble is called “Little Frosty”and is has more of a classic look than the others.

Those are the five ensembles I’ve made for Millie over the years. This last one is hers to keep–snowman and all. I will help her get dressed up in it soon.

Which is your favorite of Millie’s ensembles?

I hope you are enjoying the start of this special time of year. I love this season, however, it goes by so, so fast. This year I am really making an effort to savor each moment of each day in the hopes it might go a little slower.

I am also documenting this season with some video. I have two new holiday decorating videos on You Tube. I’d love for you to watch them if you’d like.

I really appreciate you visiting with me today. I’d love to hear from you too. How are you decorating for the season?

Stay safe and warm my friends.

❤️💚❤️

Hi, Heather. Thank you and thank you for visiting with me here! I made about a dozen of these a few years ago and have only used three of them. I need to get to work!

Cindy, Happy Holidays to you, too!

Gosh, every time I read your posts or view your videos I think to myself how very amazing you are!!

Millie’s ensembles are so adorable!! I loved seeing them! She’s a cutie!

As a Christmas gift in 1979, my mom gave me my first Department 56 Snow Village piece. You and I both have the pink Cadillac (one of my favorite pieces — though aren’t they all??!!), little snowmen, and stone pathways. I just love the story that unfolds when setting up my village each year. Inevitably, when our son and daughter are home for the holidays, they will move an accessory piece or two to somewhere in the display that has more meaning for them. I just love it! How fun is it that your duplexes are numbered with a 5 and a 6?!

Thank you for sharing all that you do! I love knitting from your LD patterns. You inspire me and remind me to, yes, capture each moment and feel joy and gratitude every day.

    Thank you,
    Debbie

Aww, Debbie thanks so much, you are so kind. It is so nice to be appreciated doing what I love and sharing what I am interested in. Thank you!
My mom got me hooked on Snow Village too. I think her first houses were purchased in the early 1980s. I was just mesmerized by the coziness emanating from the windows when they were all lit up.
I didn’t realize the meaning of the 5 and 6 until you mentioned it. I was wondering why 5 and 6, and not 1 and 2? Thank you for bringing that to my attention. Makes total sense!
I’m happy you enjoy my patterns!
Again thank you so much, Debbie, for appreciating my contributions to this creative world.
      ❤️💚

All of the outfits are so adorable that it is hard to pick just one. Each has its own special appeal. I loved the mitt in the Toasty Warm Holiday outfit. Sweet touch!
Did you make the needle felted snowman? I have been looking at needle felted animals on Pinterest. They are precious. I have thought about trying to make one, but never thought about a snowman. That seems like a good place to start. Simple.
I decorate my entire house for Christmas from top to bottom. Each room has a tree with a specific theme. I add floral arrangements (artificial), Annalee dolls, and Fitz & Floyd porcelain figurines throughout the house. Pictures on the walls are replaced with Christmas themed ones; mostly Santa pictures. My formal living room has beautiful large nativity figures sitting on the coffee table. Yes, it is overdone, but we love the spirit of the season it adds to our home.

Hi, Dee. Thanks so much! Yes, I made the needle felted snowman. They are quite easy and probably are the easiest things to start with.
Wow! Your house must be WONDERFUL! I can’t even imagine how special it must be. I feel nothing is overdone at Christmas time. It’s all perfect!
Thank you for giving us a little ‘imagining’ of your house during the holidays.
      Have a great day!

Hi, Terri. Thanks for commenting. You must be sooo busy having a house full of little ones. But, a house full of warmth and love too. At the moment my house is full of barking dogs and tweeting birds, but lots of love–ha ha. Oh, we’ve had a glorious day today. I could be fooled in thinking that it is April. It is ‘blue sky sunny’ and got into the 50s–such a gift. I hope our sunshine continues to brighten up your state.
That sweater dress is my favorite of Millie’s too.
I look forward to seeing your home decorated for the holidays. Take care and continue to soak in the season. Hugs to you, Terri. 🤗
