Hello and Happy Weekend to you! I hope you are doing well and enjoying this time of year when the holidays are over.
I’ve put together a short vlog depicting my makes and other life stuff that happened this past week. Not included in the video is how we spent almost an entire day taking all the ornaments off the tree and carefully wrapping them up–tubs and tubs of ornaments. The tree was as crispy as a cracker, and the branches were sagging to the ground–such a sad state for a once beautiful tree. 😦 I am not sure why it dried out so quickly this year; perhaps the heating vent in that room is a powerhouse vent. We also put away almost all the other decorations; I still have my Snow Village up.
Penny’s new ensemble is complete and she is happily modeling it for you. Yes, it is done and I didn’t have to reknit the cardigan. Thank you for your support and suggestions for it.
Last time I talked about how the uneven striping due to the tonal yarn looked strange, but once the embroidery was complete it looked fine. And I think even without embroidery it would have been okay; it kind of matches Penny’s personality–all quirky and cute.
I also made another mistake with this cardigan which I didn’t discover until I put my needles away from this project. I knew something was amiss when I first tried the cardigan on Penny; it was so roomy, but I never (until now) get my number one and number zero needles mixed up. I was actually quite happy to discover this because it is better than my gauge changing and having to rework my patterns. So Penny has growing room with this cardigan. 😉

I wish you all a peaceful weekend and coming week. Enjoy each and every day! Hugs to you, my friends. 🤗
Cindy,
It was good to hear from you today. I hope all is well with you and your family.
I just love your little Penny. What a sweet doll.
Judi
Hi, Judi. We are all well, thank you. I am so happy to finally have something new for Penny to wear–it’s been awhile. I hope you are enjoying the weekend. ❤️
Cindy,
I love how Penny’s little cardigan turned out! Adorable! The bouquet of flowers balanced things out perfectly and the bow is a sweet echo of the bows in her dress fabric. It’s funny how sometimes “mistakes” really turn out not to be mistakes at all. Have a happy day!
Hello, Tamara. Thank you. Yes, it is funny how mistakes can turn out. That yarn was the perfect colorway for the dress; I’m glad it all worked out. I hope you are having a great weekend. ❤️
Your sweater for Penny came out beautiful. I love hearing from you and and all your suggestions that you give us.
Hello, Mavis. Thank you for following along on my creative adventures. It is fun to share and connect. I am happy you enjoy. Hope you are having a great weekend. ❤️
Penny looks so cute. Please tell her the new Mia here is waving. 🙂
Penny and I are waving hello to you and Mia. We hope you are having a great weekend. Thank you, Joy. ❤️
Bonsoir Cindy,
The cardigan came out very nice ! Bravo ! It is so tiny ! I like the embroideries.
How funny to see you are making puzzles. I do too now. I discovered this « activity « during the first lockdown and I enjoyed it so much. Your Santa’s puzzle looks great . Wish I could find one similar.
Have a nice sunday.
Sophie in Brittany.
Hello, Sophie. I wish postage wasn’t so high. I’d love to share this puzzle with you you. We’ve already put it together twice and feel that that is enough. The puzzle is called “Checking it Twice” by White Mountain. Maybe you could find it on eBay or Amazon.
We’ve started a third puzzles already. We only seem to do them around the holidays for some reason.
Thank you for the compliment on Penny’s cardigan. She is very happy with her new outfit.
I hope you’ve had a great weekend! Wishing you a happy week. ❤️
Lovely! So relaxing to watch too. Beautiful knitting, embroidery, jigsaws, birds, walking your dog, writing your diary, lovely winter scenery, cooking….. So enjoyable. Oh, and I love your winter breakfast mugs.
I hope January continues to be a wonderfully productive month for you.
Hello, Judy. Thank you for watching my video. I love making them! It is a creative outlet for me and am happy you find them enjoyable.
I hope so too, about January. So far so good! Have a great week ahead. ❤️
Hi Cindy, it is indeed a sad time when we have to take the tree down! Ours is still up we will get to it real soon. I can imagine you had to be careful packing away the beautiful ornaments . Penny is so cute in her finished outfit. The dress and cardigan go great together and the pretty shoes. It is good for her that she has growing room in the cardigan. Have a lovely week , Terri xo.
Good morning, Terri. We’ll be putting up a tree again 10-1/2 months, so not so bad, right? My Snow Village houses are still lighting up the night. I’ll probably leave them up through January.
I’m hoping to get some yarn dying and sewing done today. Wish me luck! ❤️ I hope you have a great day and week!
It is not too bad Cindy! Our village is up too, It will be nice to keep yours going for a while. I hope you had a productive day Monday, take care, Terri xo.
