Hello to you! I hope you have been enjoying this mid February weekend. I am having a hard time believing it is February. The sun is shining and it is quite nice today. I am feeling April vibes not February vibes. There are some crocuses and grape hyacinths that have started showing their leaves in the gardens already. I hope they don’t regret coming up so early.
Now for what I’ve made for Alisha who is a Helen Kish doll. Yes, it has been awhile for her. She was long overdue for something new to wear.
Alisha’s soft and fuzzy long sleeve blue cardigan was made with two strands of lace yarn, a cornflower blue and pure white mohair/silk. When these two yarns are used together it produces a very soft shade of blue to match those tiny blue flowers in her dress. The cardigan is embroidered with pink roses, leaves, and deep pink colonial knots. Tiny Miyuki rainbow drop beads button up her cardigan.
Alisha’s dress is made with 100% cotton from the Guernsey collection by Brenda Riddle. It’s been in my stash for years–I have no idea the name of this particular print. However Brenda Riddle always has some very sweet florals in her collections. The print has the tiniest rosebuds in shades of pink with even tinier blue blossoms and greenery. Delicate white cotton lace edges the full skirt and a silk ribbon ties around her waist.
Alisha wears a crocheted beaded headband that is beaded all around with clear rainbow Delica beads and the blue lace yarn used for the cardigan. She wears a pink seed bead bracelet with a silver toned “Loved and Beloved” heart charm. Her tights are in pink cotton knit. She has managed to pluck a blossom out of Mom’s garden too. It has a bit of stretchy jewelry cord strung around it so that Alisha can hold it.
As you can see she is one happy little girl, and I think she is oh so pretty in pink and blue. Alisha just whispered in my ear that she’d love to hear what you think of her new springtime ensemble!
Wishing you a great rest of the weekend and a good week ahead. ❤️ Thanks so much for stopping by today.
Love your Alisha. There are a few Kish littles here too. 🙂
Lovely sunny day here in northern CA. Had lunch on the deck where it was almost too hot. If you can believe. 🙂
Have to run some errands and then will be watching the game even though we’re not rooting for either team. 🙂
Hello, Joy. Happy Monday! Alisha says hello to your Kish dolls. I opened a box yesterday and found little Ellery and two of her friends. I totally forgot about them.
That sun can get so hot! It sounds like a nice lunch though. I forgot what it is like to eat outside–been months now here. No complaining from me though–it’ll be near 50 degrees and sunny today. Can’t beat that for February.
We did the same last night. Exciting game… and I’m not too much into football.
I hope you have a great week, Joy❤️
It’s so cute. How do you know when your creations are available for purchase and where do you sell them? Thank you!!
Hi, Laura. Thank you. I will post about sales on my Facebook page and also on my website. I usually give a day or two (at least) advance notice. Since my ensembles are one-of-a-kind they go to the first email or contact form I receive in my inbox. There is a contact form tab on my website. I invoice through PayPal. Thanks for your interest, Laura!❤️
As always, absolutely adorable.
Thanks so much, Dolly❤️! I hope you have a great week ahead!
You have very nimble fingers! That tiny sweater is adorable and even better on Alisha. Alisha’s outfit inspires me to dress all of my dolls for spring!
Thank you, Debra. ❤️ It IS very tiny! I’ve been working a lot with the Fashion Friends lately and was getting used to that size. As for my nimbleness, my hands/fingers aren’t as good as they used to be, but I’m moving along. It’s probably all downhill from here though. I’ll keep on for as long as I can. The eyesight is proving challenging too. Thank goodness for readers!
Have a great week, Debra!
