Dreaming About Spring

Hello! 😁 It is a most blustery morning here in northern Illinois. The wind chimes are singing, singing, singing–tiny tinkling notes in the backyard and low notes from the bamboo chimes on the front porch. We are under a winter storm watch which starts in the wee hours of Thursday morning. Over 6 inches of snow and wind gusts up to 40mph will be Thursday’s weather conditions where I live.

However, today I am dreaming of spring; the crocuses and grape hyacinths are coming up and all of the snow has melted.

I dug into my photo archives to retrieve some of my favorite outdoor spring shots and thought you might enjoy them, too. I find it so rewarding to look back at these pictures in the middle of winter. I’d like to take more outdoor shots this year. It’s such a challenge though… My dollies are always falling over! Maybe I can figure something out. Any ideas?

Do you have a favorite? If you are still stuck in the middle of cold, snowy winter weather I hope you at least enjoyed these springtime pictures of my sweet girls.

A lot of these dolls are retired, but can be found on the secondary market. For more information about the dolls in these photos visit my FAQ page–tab at the top.

Wishing you a wonderful day no matter the weather! Enjoy! Sending hugs to you!πŸ€—β€οΈ

Something wonderful about the green grass and lovely flowers. Definitely makes one cheery. Fun seeing your girls. Sorry winter is returning though. Here, my mini daffodils have been blooming and the big ones aren’t too far behind. But, we’ve had frost overnight, so have had to cover jade plants etc. who hang out on the porch.
As to the dollies taking tumbles, a lot use stands. I don’t, but like to lean them against something like the back of a bench etc. One can lean against something and another lean on the propped doll. Can’t tell in photos. πŸ™‚
Hope you have warm weather again soon.

Hello, Joy. All that green grass is a mere memory right now. All is white out there today. It never gets boring…
Oh, your little daffodils are blooming! Luck you! They’re so cheery.
You take a lot of photos out on your deck, don’t you? That natural light is the prettiest light. I don’t have stands except for Patience’s. Hers is nice because it is practically invisible. Thank you for the tips. I have lots of props to try. I can’t wait to try a photo shoot outside as soon as it warms up.
      I hope you’ve had a good day today, Joy.❀️

I am afraid I just can’t choose a favorite. Each one is a delight! We are in the throes of early spring after a warm winter, no complaints. I tried my first outdoor photo shoot of my Ruby Red Sara. There was only a gentle breeze but it was enough to send the doll setting to the ground more than once. I decided to stick with indoors for the time being. Maybe some faux greenery. I am a doll stand person. I don’t like my dolls to take a tumble.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful spring creations of the past few years, here’s to many more!

Hi, Debra. It sounds like you are having the same issues with your dolls toppling over outside. The slightest breeze is all it takes. Every time it happens my stomach drops. It is so stressful, so I take most of my photos indoors too, but the natural light is so beautiful. Maybe I’ll figure something out this spring. Lucky you to be experiencing spring already. For us, today, all is white out there.
Thank you for visiting and commenting, Debra! I hope you’ve had a beautiful day.❀️

I hope your weather has improved Cindy ! Did you get all that snow promised? It is 6c here this morning , we will get snow later , maybe up to 20 inches before the end of Thursday. I want to have that same dream as yours , of spring arriving ! I am sure it is fun looking back on all the work you did to give the dollies their cute outfits. The only thing I can think of for keeping them standing is little magnets temporarily attached to their shoes and standing on a metal base of some sort. You do ask a tough question if I have a favorite ! I like Gracie’s a lovely blossom, also Patsy in pink , but I will go with Gina’s springtime beauty . They are all gorgeous though. Sending big hugs back to you and the girls, Terri ❀❀❀

Hi, Terri. Yes, our weather improved, but today I think we will get some ice. It’s been a strange winter indeed! Wow–20 inches! You are probably in the thick of the storm right now. I hope you and your family are all staying safe and cozy at home.
Magnets sound like a solution. Thank you for the tip. I cannot wait to have this outdoor photography problem again. Today, it seems like a distant dream given the winter weather. I know you know what I mean!
Thanks for your ‘favorite’ vote. When our pink magnolia tree is in bloom it is a beautiful backdrop.
I pray all is well by you. πŸ€—β€οΈ
