Little Riley is Wishing…

My little Riley Kish is wishing and wishing and wishing for a white Christmas. It was looking promising on Halloween, but that snow has melted now. We had another little snowstorm last weekend, and since it was a cold week it stuck around for a few days. But now, it has warmed up, so little Riley is forlornly looking out the window and only seeing rain. I told her that there are still weeks left before Christmas, so to not lose hope. I maybe saw the tiniest little smile on her face after that. She’s trying to be optimistic…

In the meantime, while Riley is waiting for Christmas (and snow) to arrive she is being as festive as possible. For her, that means jingling her tiny jingle bells and decorating the tree. Holiday festiveness and snow go perfectly together. At least here in northern Illinois that is the way things go. I believe she thinks that she is calling on the snow to fall by being the most festive little one possible.

So, while you are here visiting with us Riley would like to show you her new Christmas ensemble. She loves how cozy her merino sweater dress is, and how her Santa hat makes her eyes shine. She is one festive little girl, isn’t she? “Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells…” she sings🎶 in her sweet voice. I wish you could hear her…

Will you help Riley wish for Christmas snow? The poor thing will be quite disappointed if we don’t have a white Christmas. Thank you for your help!

Bye for now! Enjoy the week ahead. Hugs from Riley!🤗

“Rose Gardens and Green”

Hello, how are you? Spring busted out all over this past week. We went from winter to summer in no time. This past week was that hot! 🌞 After one week the summery weather is through for awhile though. It’s getting cold again, and soon the rain will become snowflakes. It’s so hard to adjust…

Regardless of the temperature variations, everything is greening up, including Lucy’s new cardigan. I am really loving green lately–such a fresh and down-to-earth color.

Here is Lucy’s sweater that I embroidered with pink roses.

And, here is Lucy wearing it with her new spring dress and accessories.

Lucy is my Little Darling, sculpt #3, painted by Helen Skinner. This happy girl reminds me of the smiling Ruby Red Fashion Friends that Dianna Effner sculpted. They never fail to make me feel a bit happier.

I hope you’ve had a wonderful weekend! Wishing you a great week ahead, my friends. Hopefully, your weather will be better than ours. 🤗

Something New for my Christmas Girl Holly

My Ruby Red Fashion Friend Holiday Stella (renamed Holly) has a new holiday ensemble to show you. If you missed the post about my Christmas doll you can read about her here.

Stella has a lilac-y skin tone that looks nice with a lot of the colors I sew with. I appreciate how the Ruby Red Fashion Friends have many different skin tones–just like us humans. BTW, does anyone know how many different skin tones Ruby Red makes for these dolls?

Last year I made Bella a holiday ensemble in a different color way with the same print. They will look adorable together. You can see that post here. I will take their photo together and show you how they look next to each other.

Holly’s hand knit cardigan was made holding two strands of lace weight yarn together. The end result picks up the greens in the dress very nicely. I embroidered two different floral motifs at the neckline. The red crystal bead buttons add the perfect sparkly touch.

Here is a full length view of precious Holly in her new ensemble.

I hope your December is going nicely. It’s flying by for me–I still have lots to do. How about you? Are you finished with holiday gift buying, etc.?

Holly and I would like to wish you Happy Holidays. 🎄🤶🏻
