I’ve been hogging the limelight with new ensembles all week long, so here are some casual shots from the week that you might enjoy looking at.
As you can see, I am still in a pink mood. Aren’t all of these pink rose prints lovely? A couple are new and three of them were used last year, but I still have LOTS more to make more dresses with. I like laying them out in a little collection for a few days.
The peach pink rose print pictured above is being made into a dress to go with this cardigan for Patience.
After my last couple of embroidery projects I was left with quite a mess. It’s all cleaned up now, but I’ve begun a new mess. 😳
Here is Lucy’s dress in progress. You are looking at the wrong side that’s why it is looking so washed out. It is a lilac-y pink rose print. Here is Lucy wearing the dress. One of the mohair sweaters that I knit in January will be embroidered to go with this dress.
I needed a little bit of cheering up on this dreary Monday morning; Lucy did the trick.
Lucy borrowed the carrot red mohair wig from Penny and wears it quite well too. I’m not sure who wears it better. Below is a picture of Penny during our photo shoot for “Pretty in Purples”.
Bye for now! Have a great week!
Such pretty pink fabrics, I love Lucy in the red wig. Her dress is really sweet and so is Lucy!
Thank you, Regina. I think Lucy and Penny will be fighting over that carrot wig, they both wear it well.
I love Lucy with her new wig! Her dress is beautiful, the print is adorable!
Thank you for your photos!
Have a good afternoon!
Hi Catherine and thank you. Hopefully the finished ensemble will look pretty on her. Hope you’re having a wonderful week.
What a kick seeing those cuties in the same wig! Adorable. Spring has sprung here in northern CA. Supposed to be 75 today.
Hi Joy,
They are going to fighting over that wig, that’s for sure. Sounds like northern CA is the place to be, sounds beautiful. Thanks, Joy!
I love seeing your work in progress and doesn’t creativity go along with being kind of messy? Lucy is adorable with her teddy bear. What do you use for embroidery–silk ribbon or fine yarn? There’s another craft I’d like to get back to — embroidery. Have fun. Rita
Hi Rita,
I agree that being creative does make a mess, then it’s clean up time to get ready for a new mess. I’ve been using 6-strand embroidery floss for my embroidery. Thanks, Rita.
A lovely post Cindy, your dolls and beautiful outfits always make me smile and these are no exception. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Sharon,
Thanks so much. I’m glad my dolls brightened your day. Those sweet faces can’t help cheering us up, can they?
Love your outfits! If I could ever learn something new, it would be able to knit those tiny sweaters. Would you share where you find your beautiful fabrics? They are just scrumptious.
Keep up the beautiful work. You inspire so many people. Have a lovely day, Janet
Thanks so much, Janet. If you know how to knit, you can knit doll sweaters. I recommend trying my AG doll sweater pattern. I have many photos of the process. It’s free on my blog. The yarn and needles aren’t quite as tiny as those used for the smaller dolls; you will learn the process, and have an AG sweater to give to someone special. I get my fabrics from many different sites online as well as fabric stores that I visit. Also, my stash provides lots of inspiration as it continues to grow. Thanks, Janet.
Thank you, Cindy, for your reply. I look on Etsy a lot but never seem to find the pretty fabric that you use. Guess I will keep looking. Also, I have never learned to knit so would have to start from scratch.
Keep up the beautiful work you do and I will enjoy it on your blog.
Have a super Monday. Janet
Know somthing is up. Hope it isn’t a loved one. Missing your posts. Can’t believe it was 80 here today. We celebrated our 40th anniversary at Coppola Winery here in Sonoma County, CA. Sat on the veranda and had a glass of wine with our lunch. Watched the hawks overhead and the beautiful vinyards with flowers in bloom. Thinking of you, and what’s up next in stitching?
Hi Joy,
Thanks for caring. My dad passed away last week. I am home again, although I may need a few days to get back in the groove.
Sounds like you are having gorgeous weather. I am out of the Florida sun and back in the winter chill… I seem to be missing the worst weather months this 2016.
I love your work, your creations are so gorgeous! I love the delicate nature of the little sweaters and how they don’t overpower the doll and her dress. I wonder if you could share where you purchased the red mohair wig? I think I have the same one in a chestnut brown and I love it but would love to have more colours. Thanks if you can point me in the right direction!
Thanks so much, Alyson. The mohair wig is a Kemper Raven in carrot. I have a couple of other colors too, and love it. http://kemperdolls.com/wigs/mohair-wigs/raven-carrot-red-mohair-wig.html
Thanks so much Cindy, I will order some! I love the one I have, it will be nice to have other colours!!
