Do you remember this photo???
I took this photo before leaving for Florida an entire month ago! Prior to leaving, I spent the week sewing dresses with the hope that I could knit the sweaters while away from my studio, which I did, but the finishing up seems to be taking forever; I am finding that it is hard to get back into the flow and feel of creating.
Today I am finally starting on the completion of the last ensemble. My hope is that when Gina’s ensemble is finished I will be able to get back in the groove.
Here are the other four finished ensembles (in case you missed them). Alice is modeling the green floral ensemble called “Flower Picking”. Alice arrived days after I returned home. (I actually got notice from Nelly that Alice was complete somewhere on interstate 75 in Georgia.) Lucy graciously let her new sister model this ensemble. This outfit was purchased by Cara’s mom. Cara’s photo is on my Facebook page here.
Gracie’s ensemble called “Rose Trellis” was just completed late last week.
Here is Patsy’s “Bitsy Blossoms”. It was purchased for Ann Estelle, but Bitty Bethany snatched it and doesn’t seem to want to take it off. You can see my customer’s photo on my Facebook page here also.
And, just completed is Millie’s “Cutie in the Garden” ensemble. Millie’s ensemble is still available on my website here.
This is the progress on Gina’s ensemble so far. I made a quick drawing of the embroidery design; we’ll see how closely I actually stick to the preliminary design. I have the embroidery thread colors all picked out and ready to go, so this is my project for the day.
I wish you all a lovely day! Bye for now.
Love your photo of Gina among the creative tools. Know you’ll get your project completed today.
Then one look at your waiting fabric and the creative process will kick in for the next amazing piece.
I saw somewhere that Maru & Friends will be coming out with a 13″ doll in December. Hopefully, I can afford one as substitute for a LD.
Good morning, Joy. I DID get most of it completed yesterday. I definitely will today! Maybe photos can get taken too! I think what was bugging me was having too many ensembles waiting to be finished. Knowing that this was the last one allowed me to be more creative. I felt like my “old self” yesterday. Thank you for cheering me on…
I saw photos of the new mini Maru too; she looks super cute! The Little Darlings are a great size and are perfectly sculpted all the way down to their toes, so that is great news that more dolls with this body will be available. I hope that they produce enough because I am sure that these dolls will be quite popular!
You are all just taking the time to “smell the roses”!
Thanks, Wendi. I am definitely smelling too many roses, and not embroidering enough of them.
Things DO slow down in the summertime, don’t they? My brain just needs to accept that.
Hope you have a beautiful day!
My hubby came in late from his meeting last night and I completely forgot to comment on your girls dresses. Cindy, you amaze me at how beautiful your things are. That little sweater on Patsy is maybe my favorite. I love how soft it looks…I’m sure it’s just as wonderful in person!
I LOVE the fabric you chose for Gracie’s dress…it’s a little bit bigger scale than what I’m used to seeing you use, and I just love the print. I do like her very much in the blonde wig.
Gina’s “two-tone” dress looks to be very sweet and it won’t be long till we’ll see it completed, I’m sure.
You may have had a hard time getting back to your sewing and knitting, but I think you’re getting your “groove” back just fine. Lovely things sure do come out of your sewing studio!
Aww, what nice things to say! You are so sweet! I am almost finished with the last of the five “dresses in waiting”, and am feeling like my old self again. I am super excited to start something new!!!
I hate to say this, but I have started to think about Christmas, have you? Probably not, it’s way too soon. I got some new Christmas fabric, though, and it is tempting me.
Thanks for commenting! Wishing you a beautiful Thursday!
There really isn’t much i can add to what has been said about your work. I wish all your followers could see how refine your work actually is. This blog is a joy to follow. Thank you Cindy. Marian
Aww, Marian, that’s so nice of you to say. I am blessed to be able to do what I love, and to have others like you enjoy my work is icing on the cake. Thank you so much for your appreciative comments. ❤
Hope your Friday is the start of a great holiday weekend!
