Hello! ❤
In my last post I showed you my newly knitted and blocked yellow sweater dress for the Little Darling dolls. Usually, I have a print fabric that guides my embroidery thread colors. This dress, having no print fabric to go along with the ensemble, is open to whatever embroidery colors I choose.
I looked through past knitwear made with this same yellow thread (Aunt Lydia’s Bamboo Crochet Thread) and found some palettes that looked inspiring to me. I was surprised to see the dresses are all tiny ones. Hmm… I guess I had it in my head to ‘save’ this sunshiny yellow bamboo thread because it is now discontinued. Well, that’s no fun! I hereby vow to ‘use it up’ and make sweaters or sweater dresses for each of my girls (dolls) who wants one.

So, which palette(s) is/are your favorite(s)? I’d love to know…
I think the “Little Sunshine”, 2013, is my favorite one. You are like me when you get in the mood to knit and have leftover yarn from something else it just so happens the color you like is the same you have made before. All of them are very pretty. I just picked up a lavender to make a new dress, most of mine are pink and I was not in the mood to knit pink again. Have a nice week. Loved your pictures of the Botanic Gardens.
Hello, Karen. Oh, I do love lavender! But, pink is probably my all time fave for my girls too. To sum it up, I’d say pastel-y colors are ones I pick almost always. I wish I could have five different ensembles going at once. I love the color palette in “Little Sunshine” too. Hmm… decisions, decisions. Thank you for commenting and visiting. Enjoy your day, Karen. ❤
Seeing little Amelia makes me realize how neglected mine has been lately. Love those tiny dresses. Exquisite. 🙂
Hello, Joy. I know what you mean–these dresses were made years ago, and are not in my Amelia Thimble’s closet. She misses having a closet full of things to wear. Our poor tinies! Thank you for visiting and commenting–love hearing from you. Enjoy your Sunday, Joy! ❤
Elles sont toutes jolies … ma préférence, tiny bit of sunshine , 2013.
Thank you for letting me know which is your favorite. The one you chose and the first one are my favorites. Maybe I will combine the two somehow. I hope you are having a lovely Sunday. Thank you for visiting and commenting. It was so nice hearing from you.
Hi Cindy, it is such a Pity that the sunshine yellow is discontinued, it is such a lovely fabric. My favorites are the fall Sunshine 2013, and also patience’s pretty shrug with the matching hat. The dress she is wearing is gorgeous, I love that you used some of the dress material as a ribbon on the hat. Thank you for sharing, Terri xo.
Hi, Terri. Thanks for your input. I like that palette too. Since I didn’t write down any of my embroidery colors I think the end result will be a combination of most of the photos. Hope my choices all work together.
Patience says ‘thank you’ for the compliment. Her fabric is so summery, isn’t it? I love it!
Is the sun shining by you today? We are having some showers this morning, but hope to see the sun later. Enjoy your day. Terri. ❤
We had some rain this morning Cindy and most of the day yesterday. It is sunny now with a nice breeze . I think your choices will work fine! Tell Patience she is quite welcome , it is so summery and you got to love it . I think that’s the girly girl in me! Have a nice day, Terri xo.
Hi Cindy, my favorite is Little Sunshine, 2013. All of them are really pretty it’s hard to chose one. Londa
Thank you, Londa. Since writing this post I have started picking out my embroidery colors. I started combining colors from the first two photos, but I think the palette will end up differently. I hope it all works together. ❤
Wow, that is so pretty. You are very talented. love all the tiny little flowers. They are all pretty.
Thank you!!! You are so kind. ❤ I have always loved embroidery and flowers and color. It's not the easiest thing to embroider on knits (versus fabric), but I love the look so much and once I get going it is better. Even after all the embroidery I've done on knitwear I am still a little hesitant to begin.
