It’s My Little Darling, Gina’s Turn

…for a Valentine’s Day sweater dress.

Don’t you think this is the perfect time of year for cozy and pretty knit dresses?  They are so comfy, easy to wear, and they keep you nice and toasty warm.

sweethearts & roses 316“Sweethearts and Roses”, Gina’s new outfit, started out  with her tights.  I’ve had this cotton knit for years and have never got around to using it.  It is really a sweet print with lots of different  hearts in pinks and reds.  There’s even a bit of silver in there for a touch of little girl sparkle.  I matched my yarn to the warm pink hearts and knit up an a-line dress that is short enough to let those tights look, oh, so cute.  I embroidered two large asymmetrical groups of roses, rosebuds, and hearts at the dropped waistline.  Extra pops of color are added with a touch of bright lavender and light yellow green.  You’ll find more hearts and love for you in Gina’s jewelry.  Her simple grosgrain headband snaps in back so it doesn’t need to be retied each time.

Winter Snowflakes

Do you have any snowflakes yet?  We don’t have any real snowflakes in northern Illinois.  In fact it just got cold enough to produce snow, not rain.  I am sure it won’t be long now and we will be enjoying the quiet beauty of a winter wonderland.

To celebrate the start of winter Talyssa has a new ensemble to show you reminiscent of an icy paradise where she is the princess.  Her dress is made with a cotton print in violet-ish colored snowflakes.  Snowflake embroidery, crystals, pearls, a silver snowflake charm, a glittery ornament, muted shades of color (or no color) make Talyssa’s new outfit perfect to help welcome winter.

If you’d like to make some of your own (virtual paper) snowflakes you can make some online here. I love the sound affects as the snowflakes are being snipped.  Here’s the one I made.

“A Toasty Warm Autumn” for the Little Darlings

This new 8-piece ensemble called “A Toasty Warm Autumn” will keep every Little Darling who lives in a cooler climate cozy and warm throughout the fall months.  The hand knitwear (sweater, hat, scarf) are all made with Peruvian Highland wool.  The sweater is a bit longer length and the hat has cute ear flaps for those chilly brisk days.  I found that when I keep my neck warm I stay warm so I made a generous scarf to wrap around the Little Darlings neck to help her stay warm too.

Even though it is fall, if you look closely enough you might still be able to find a few blossoms blooming.  Gina made a small bouquet with the blossoms she found.  A pretty blue silk bow is attached to the bouquet along with an elastic cord to help the Little Darlings hold it in their cute little hands.

The fine wale cotton corduroy dress can be dressed up with jewelry and a hair bow.

Most of the fullness in this drop waisted dress is towards the back and sides which give a bustled look to the back of the skirt.

The squirrels here in northern Illinois have been so busy collecting acorns that it got me thinking that I had better get busy with some cool weather wear.  What do you think?  Will it be another cold fall/winter?
