It’s My Little Darling, Gina’s Turn

…for a Valentine’s Day sweater dress.

Don’t you think this is the perfect time of year for cozy and pretty knit dresses?  They are so comfy, easy to wear, and they keep you nice and toasty warm.

sweethearts & roses 316“Sweethearts and Roses”, Gina’s new outfit, started out  with her tights.  I’ve had this cotton knit for years and have never got around to using it.  It is really a sweet print with lots of different  hearts in pinks and reds.  There’s even a bit of silver in there for a touch of little girl sparkle.  I matched my yarn to the warm pink hearts and knit up an a-line dress that is short enough to let those tights look, oh, so cute.  I embroidered two large asymmetrical groups of roses, rosebuds, and hearts at the dropped waistline.  Extra pops of color are added with a touch of bright lavender and light yellow green.  You’ll find more hearts and love for you in Gina’s jewelry.  Her simple grosgrain headband snaps in back so it doesn’t need to be retied each time.

Sorry, I don’t have a written pattern for the Little Darlings, Judi. Check out dollswestdesigns.com and sew-coolseparates.com. They both have knitting patterns for the L.D.’s.

the dress is beautiful. I was curious what kind of doll It is shown on. She looks a lot like my daughter and would love to try to find one for her. Thanks!
