Of all the seasons the beginning of autumn brings the most excitement for me. It is a cozy season with comforting flavors and scents. Just thinking about autumn brings to mind pumpkin, cinnamon, and apples! It seems like autumn is all about the food! Well, not all, but a big part. Do you have a favorite autumnal flavor or scent?
Poor Bethany has been squirming around in her case lately. She’s getting restless and wants to do a little modeling for you. She told me her vacation has gone on far too long, and she is right. Who goes on vacation for 3+ years! I could not say no to this cutie, and so, I made her an ensemble to help welcome the fall season.
When I was picking sweater yarn for this ensemble, I wanted the sweater to look like an effortless addition, not a “matchy match”. I decided on an almond color that brings out the beautiful colors in the dress. I then focused on the peachy pink background in the fabric and added the crocheted beret and purse. The tights are a very pastel version of this shade also.
Bethany’s “Autumnal Sweetie” ensemble will be available tonight (September 8, 2016) at 7:00 pm CST, cindyricedesigns.com.
I’d love to hear what comes to mind when you think of fall!
My Kish Alisha (an 8″ bent leg baby) has a new Christmas ensemble to show you. It is made to coordinate with the last four winter white sets that I made for the Little Darlings, Riley, Pukipuki, and Amelia Thimble. Here’s a photo of those four sets. Unfortunately these four sets have moved on to dress their new girls for Christmas, so I cannot take a group shot of the five of them all together. You can use your imagination to place Alisha in this photo.
I love Alisha in headbands; they really show off her super soft, curly, reddish-brown mohair wig, so no Santa hat for Alisha. Instead I hand crafted a delicate headband out of English lace that I hand dyed to a bright red.
I made this dress full enough, so that Alisha can sit as well as stand in it. Alisha may take her first steps this Christmas.

It’s been many years since I’ve made anything new for my Kish Riley, but she finally has something new to show you. This ensemble came about by accident. If you remember, I made the Santa hat (that is now Riley’s) thinking it was for one of the tiny dolls, but I was mistakenly following the pattern for Gina (the pages were next to each other in my book). Because I was using a thinner yarn on smaller needles it came out too small for Gina with way too many stitches for the tinies. Well, it fit Riley perfectly and was the beginning of this ensemble for her. This is her first sweater dress; it took two tries to get the perfect fit, but it was worth the effort, I think.
Look at those rosy cheeks on little Riley! Oh, I’ve missed dressing her!
I just LOVE embroidered sweater dresses on dolls, don’t you?
Here is the photo of my four dolls in their coordinating outfits that I showed you a couple of weeks ago. Like I had said in a previous post, I didn’t plan on making four sets that looked so sweet all together. It was a pleasant surprise!
Riley is my last doll to show you her little ensemble; I think she felt a little bad because she is last. I told her that I am saving the best for last which made her feel oh, so special.

P.S. Riley made me promise to mention to you all that she would LOVE to know how cute you think she is all dressed up for Christmas. Bye for now!
