Millie’s “Cozy Christmas Color”

My tiny (11″) Kay Wiggs illie, Millie, is here today modeling her new (and first of the season) Christmas ensemble.  Doesn’t she look festive, cozy, and warm?

My First Holiday (Christmas) Ensemble of the Season

My first holiday ensemble is all ready to show you!  I started my holiday creating by using my favorite fabric first, not saving it for one of the last like I did last year.  And, it just so happens that the color palette is a little bit fallish, so it is indeed the perfect one to start with.

Isn’t this fabric cute?  There are so many adorable motifs in this primitive looking print, boring it is not.  And, even though the colors are muted it is still quite colorful.  Yes, it is my most favorite holiday or Christmas fabric that I’ve purchased so far this year.

I had the perfect shade of wool yarn for knitting the sweater and hat.  It matches the rosy color beautifully.  I picked out the blue and green in the print and added bits of those colors throughout the ensemble for extra “colorfulness”.

Sweater Weather is Here

Blustery, Cloudy, Cool!  This is our weekend weather forecast for northern Illinois.  I don’t mind—it’s sweater weather!

I went through my older photos and found my warmest looking fall sweaters.  Most of these are knit with a fingering weight Peruvian Highland wool.

These tiny sweater were all made for Kish’s little BJD, Lisbet.  She came before Amelia Thimble and is slightly larger.  I hand dyed all (except natural, of course) of the lace yarn (merino/silk) in fall colors.

Bethany’s sweater was knit with a Sport weight wool to make an even warmer sweater for chilly fall weather.

This striped sweater for Patsy was a “weaving in ends” project, but I love how it turned out.

Gina’s natural colored sweater was knit with a fingering weight wool/angora yarn.
