Millie’s “Cozy Christmas Color”

My tiny (11″) Kay Wiggs illie, Millie, is here today modeling her new (and first of the season) Christmas ensemble.  Doesn’t she look festive, cozy, and warm?

cozy christmas colors 687Millie is so excited to have her very own Santa hat.  Millie says she will wear it “all the time” when helping out this holiday season.

cozy christmas colors 689Millie’s sweater is knit with mohair/silk lace weight yarn.  For the embroidery, I centered the main motifs around the petaled blossom shapes from the dress and embroidered them in a warm pink-y shade (for more distinction they are a shade or two lighter than those on the dress).  The berries are colonial knots in a deep berry red that match the dress; the stems and leaves are lazy daisy stitches and straight stitches.

Hi Regina and thank you. I am so happy you like little Millie all dressed up for the holidays. She has loved modeling this set for all of you and has been whispering in my ear, “What will you make me next?”. lol

    HI Cindy,
Is Millie’s hat the one you learned using the DPN’s or whatever it was called? It looks really sweet and you did a fantastic job on it… just like you always do on everything you make. She looks very pretty in her new Christmas set. I like that really fine mohair yarn used for her sweater and I see her little heart bracelet got made from some of your new beads.
She’s a sweetheart of a doll! Very cute, Cindy!
    Blessings, Jeanne

      Hi Jeanne,
I think Millie’s hat was the 3rd piece that I knit in the round on DPNs. Lately I’ve got it down to using 3 needles comfortably, so it goes faster. I am glad I finally figured this process out! It will be perfect for lace hats which don’t look the best with a seam.
I have lots of heart beads; this one is from my stash. I can’t remember where I got it, but I’ve had a small bag of them for years.
Thanks for your sweet comments, Jeanne! Have a peaceful and beautiful Sunday.
