Sweater Weather is Here

Blustery, Cloudy, Cool!  This is our weekend weather forecast for northern Illinois.  I don’t mind—it’s sweater weather!

I went through my older photos and found my warmest looking fall sweaters.  Most of these are knit with a fingering weight Peruvian Highland wool.

These tiny sweater were all made for Kish’s little BJD, Lisbet.  She came before Amelia Thimble and is slightly larger.  I hand dyed all (except natural, of course) of the lace yarn (merino/silk) in fall colors.

Bethany’s sweater was knit with a Sport weight wool to make an even warmer sweater for chilly fall weather.

This striped sweater for Patsy was a “weaving in ends” project, but I love how it turned out.

Fall is Colored Brightly 742

Gina’s natural colored sweater was knit with a fingering weight wool/angora yarn.

orange you ready for fall 141

If it’s cool where you are I hope these photos warmed you up a bit.

Cozy fall weekend wishes to everyone in this half of the world!

Bye for now and thank you for reading along.

Bravo! Your sweaters are all beautiful, I love them a lot!
Here the weather is mild and rainy, but I tolerate a vest!
About my health: I had cancer last year, but I have supported chemo well and I feel better now!
Have a good sunday, warm regards!

My favorite hat is the colorful tie on that Gina’s wearing with the pink sweater. Like kids used to wear. And the first little tie on hat and whole outfit for Gina is absolutely adorable.
Supposed to be 80 here in CA today which is good. We’re attending a 4:00 outdoor wedding in the redwoods.

Happy Sunday to you and thank you, Joy. That one has always been a favorite of mine also. It always looked a bit vintage with Gina’s wavy hair. Hope the wedding was beautiful!

It was the best wedding we have ever attended. Beautiful bride (our daughter’s friend since 1st grade) and a lovely mix of old friends and new. Complete with family style Italian dinner and blue grass band in the little town of Occidental. Lots of little ones there including our newest grandson of three weeks.

    HI Cindy,
I love ALL those sweaters and couldn’t find a one I didn’t like! I LOVE the first one with the little leaves stitched on it…. so adorable…and the hat!
I also wanted to tell you how sweet Gina looks in that little red wig. She is so cute in it!
We’re having cooler weather too… in the 60’s but I’m loving it! I’m still wearing flip flops… I’m sort of hot natured so I Iove Fall, it just doesn’t last long enough.
Thanks for warming up all those Cold people… and us warm ones too! They were fun to see all together…
    Blessings, Jeanne

      Hi Jeanne,
Aww, you’re so kind, thank you! I consider the temps in the 60s to be warm too, and I would be wearing flip flops also! It was much cooler yesterday, shiver weather because I have not yet made the adjustment to grab a jacket before I leave the house.
Yesterday was chilly, but this morning didn’t feel quite as bad when I took the pup out.
I’m glad you enjoyed the photos.

      Hi Susan,
Thank you so much. I’ve always loved dolls and tiny little pieces of clothing for them.
It’s nice to see you here. I enjoy reading your blog very much. Quite often your photos get me out of my sewing studio and into the kitchen to do a little healthy cooking. My husband and daughter thank you!

Happy Sunday to you, Pennie, and thank you! Do you get much of a fall? I wish the fall season went on longer here, but I am afraid we will get a frost soon. Usually we’ve had one by mid October, so it is closing in on us…
