This and That…

3 pumpkin dresses 961My tiny pumpkin dresses are all finished.  There are two for Amelia Thimble and Izzy, and one for Fairyland’s Pukipuki.  I still have to write website pages for them.  They will probably be available for sale one at a time, so stay tuned.

an autumn rose 090Talyssa got her bangs cut yesterday.  I was looking at photos of her on Pinterest (I’m not sure who to credit with the photo) and was captivated by this photo of her with bangs.  I think it makes her look a lot younger, and cuter.

spider 080Who likes spiders?  I like that they are good for the garden, but I find them creepy, to say the least.  I looked out the window yesterday evening and in the middle of a 3′ x 3′ (at least) web sat this HUGE spider.  After I took the photos, I went back out with a ruler, he was gone.  I am guessing him to be about an inch long, the biggest that I’ve ever seen.  Anyone know what kind of spider this is?  My daughter and husband couldn’t believe how close I had to get to him to take this picture; I didn’t have a zoom lens on my camera, so he was about a foot away from the camera!

September is National Sewing Month and the only things that I have sewn this month are three pair of tights!  Sew… I am going to sew today!  I need a dress to go with the Christmas sweater and hat that I have been working on.

Bye for now!  Hope you have a great day!

The little pumpkin dresses are adorable ❤ And your Talyssa's new haircut is so sweet 🙂 That is a HUGE spider!! Well done for getting so close!

I can say that the pumpkin dresses are thousand times more beautiful than the spider! This one is especially big!! Do you intend to tame it for Halloween?
I’m not afraid of spiders, but my daughter is terrified when she sees one, even tiny!
Did you finish your dress today?
    Have a good day!
    Warm regards!

Ha Ha. Yes, it is getting to be the holiday for spiders, isn’t it. This one is so big I could put him on a leash, just kidding. My daughter is the same as your daughter, the tiniest speck of a spider needs to be killed by someone else.
It’s getting close to bedtime and yes, I did finish the dress. Yay!!! Sewing is SO much quicker than knitting. Thanks for the compliment on my pumpkin dresses, Catherine.

I love the pumpkins with all the detail of the stitches to create each little pumpkin. The colors are lovely too! Wow the detail on the spider too – Eeek! Maybe he came to your house in celebration of Halloween!

Hi Heather and thanks so much. For being so tiny, the pumpkins aren’t that hard to embroider, roses are much more difficult getting the curves and placement of each petal just right.

Even I got the heebie jeebies looking at that monster spider, but you know who was terrified of it. It’s a good thing there was a window separating the two of them. If that thing had been in the house…

Hope you guys are doing well. Think about you often (in your quiet house).

I believe your spider is an Orb Web Weaver. Try a Google. Our daughter also has arachnophobia. Love the tiny dresses for Amelia and friends.

Hi Joy and thank you. I did Google Orb Web Weaver and found our spider. I haven’t seen it again since it disappeared after I photographed it. We are having storms now, so I am sure it is hiding in the bushes. My daughter is terrified of the tiniest spider too. I wonder if they outgrow it. Someday Mom and Dad will not be around to get them out of the house. Thanks for your compliment on Amelia’s dresses.

If that thing had jumped at me I would have screamed and attracted all kinds of attention from the neighbors. I was happy to get an entire dress completed today!
