As we move towards April I am aware of the chant, “April showers bring May flowers”, and I always think to myself that it’s the “April showers” bit that I wish we could leap right over to get to the good part, the “May flowers”. However, we need the rain to wash away the winter grime to make everything outside shiny and new. Of course the rain helps to restart the growth on the trees and plants too.
As I finished embroidering this sweater for the Little Darling the little rosebuds trailing down the sweater reminded me of a spring rain shower, one that is gentle and warm, and (my favorite part) with the sunshine following close behind.

So beautiful! Soft and feminine.
Hi Pennie. Thanks so much. The sweater is knit with the finest lace yarn I have and the alpaca gives it tons of drape so when Gina wears it on her shoulders the sleeves hang down like they would if we were to put a sweater around our shoulders. Have a great weekend.
I love this outfit! Gorgeous for a darling princess!
Hi Dawn and thank you. Yes, Gina is quite the princess. She’s the girl that gets the most new things to try on. However, it doesn’t go to her head. She is just as sweet as can be.
Romantic, lovely and fragile.
Hi Line. Thanks for your comments. Gina was so happy to model it for me.
Thank you so much, Line.
Lovely!!!
Have a nice week-end!
Hi Dorinda. Thank you and hope you have a nice weekend as well. Can’t believe the week is over already though!
HI Cindy,
I just love this sweet little dress on your Gina! She’s a very sweet model. I was going to tell you I liked the picture of her with the sweater draped around her shoulders the best and then you mentioned above that the sweater is made from Alpaca yarn(?) and drapes so nicely. I noticed it right away. Maybe it’s the way Gina is standing but that is one darling picture.
Her dress is so adorable as is everything included in this set! What a lucky lady who got this set!
Blessings, Jeanne
Hi Jeanne and thank you for your thoughtful comments. Yes, the sweater is an alpaca/silk blend, but mostly alpaca which has less body than wool and this is the finest lace that I have. This sweater is probably my most tedious pattern, a dropped stitch in the lace panel might mean starting over. I knit this one without any distractions around me.
Cindy
Your artistry and precision are amazing!
Hi Heather. Thanks so much. Even though this sweater is tedious to knit, I love the result.
