Strolling Through the Garden with Patience

On a beautiful spring day it is hard to resist Mother Nature.  She beckons to us with her warm sun, gentle breezes, and surprises blooming outside.  It was a day like this for us in northern Illinois on Friday.  As much as I wanted to stay inside and work, work, work, I couldn’t resist.  I had a lovely walk soaking up the warm sun and discovering all of the new things growing outside.

Patience loves to get outside on a spring day too.  I took her picture in front of our pink magnolia tree that is in bloom.  I didn’t plan it, but the ensemble that I just completed for her was perfect for photos.

    HI Cindy,
What a pretty, pretty dress for Patience. I LOVE that fabric you used for her dress! It’s so sweet. You got a good Patience…some of them had really wonky eyes. The little sweater is darling with her dress and those bullions..they are just perfect! I saw that it was already sold…so somebody is doing the happy dolly dance!!!
We have a big magnolia tree in our yard, but it’s the kind with the large slick green leaves and then gets the fragrant white blossoms about June. When you walk out the door and it’s in bloom, you smell them first thing.
    Blessings, Jeanne

Hi Jeanne. Thanks for your comments. Patience’s one eye will sometimes stick, but I just move it over and it will stay. I don’t make too many sweaters out of darker yarn, but I loved how this yarn color coordinated with the print, so I decided to go with it.
I noticed the fragrance from the magnolias on Friday and Saturday; it was so sweet. In the past years, I don’t think that I noticed a fragrance. Maybe it has to do with the weather. The warmer weather might bring out the scent. They’re not smelling now; it is soooo cold. The weather people are promising us an 18° wind chill tomorrow morning. I am overjoyed!!! Ha Ha!

      Hi again Cindy,
I was just in town and heard on the radio that it’s supposed to get down to 33 tonight… but I’m not complaining… 18 degree windchill factor? That’s just WRONG!
Stay inside and stay warm! I promise you warmer weather is coming…
      Blessings, Jeanne
