Little Lady in Lilac

I’ve never dressed Millie in anything purple or lilac and I really like her in it, don’t you?  To me, she looks like a southern belle all dressed up for Easter, a Sunday outing, or even a garden wedding.

When I started making this outfit for Millie I thought I would have to keep the color palette to purples, but I noticed that the roses had the lightest of pinks in them.  I found that pink went beautifully with the sweater so kept it as my primary embroidery color.  I used the pale pink again for the ribbon tie, purse, tights, and hat.  It really warms up the lilac color and livens up what could have been a monochromatic ensemble.

    OH CINDY!
Millie is SO adorable in this set! She looks beautiful in lilac and personally I think she is the prettiest Millie I have ever seen. I wish mine had looked like yours… I never bonded with mine.
I love all the little details on this set. She looks like a dainty little lady in it. The fabric and then your choices of bullions flowers is “spot on!” I’m sure I’ve said it before, but this is my new favorite! I just love it! Don’t you? I think you were so smart picking up the pink tones in this and using them as accents too. It’s just darling…
    Blessings, Jeanne

Hello, Jeanne. I’m sorry you didn’t bond with your Millie. I enjoy dressing the different doll body types and she is so petite and delicate. I want to make her a knit dress in bamboo soon. She is small enough that I won’t be knitting for days, but I’m sure it will still take awhile. Hmmm, I must be a slow knitter. Thank you for your comments, Jeanne. 🙂 Hope you have a great weekend.
