Portraits of Talyssa

We had such a gloomy and wet day here.  I didn’t know it would turn out to be such a great day for some natural light photos.  Talyssa was the doll that I happened to pick up.  I thought that I’d share them with you.

There are quite a few windows in this room, but since it is a rather large room the only near light was coming from the window on my right side; I was about 12″ away.  To slightly blur the background and keep her face in focus I used an f/stop of 4, ISO of 400.  It was almost too dark in the room to take these without a tripod because the little red “shaky camera” icon would sometimes appear (depending on what I focused on, light or dark).

Thanks for stopping by!

How fun to play with the light! Her eyes just sparkle in every photo. No gloomies here. Sunny, with a bit of wind blowing our sycamore leaves everywhere! Neighbors hate us, I’m sure.

      Hi Joy,
I can close my eyes and imagine your sunny day with the leaves blowing around. Leaves never stay in their own yard, do they? lol Thank you, Joy.

      Hi Carol and thank you,
It was a big surprise to me at how well these turned out. I think that Talyssa has a very expressive face. Thanks for commenting. ❤️

She looks lovely Cindy, I particularly like the last photo of her.
Sometimes the weather pays such an important part in our photos. Here the light can be so bright that I struggle to get good photos in the daytime but first thing in the morning, just as the sun is coming up, so the light is perfect! Unfortunately I am not often up that early!! LOL!

      Hi Sharon,
Your photos always have such a wonderful quality to them, I love looking at them. Ha ha, we don’t usually have the “too bright” problem like you do. I don’t get up early unless I have to either. Thanks for commenting, Sharon. 😀
