My Snow Village this Year (2015)

I’ve mentioned my Snow Village in a couple of previous posts a little here and showed you Amelia Thimble posing in it here.

Here is a photo of the complete set up.  My husband did the entire display this year.  Didn’t he do a great job?!  As you can see, I don’t have too many pieces, just enough to make it look complete yet manageable, I think.

My husband placed an old bi-fold closet door on top of a desk to make a base which is the perfect size for all of my pieces.

The church on the left is one that I had given to my grandmother.  I bought it for her because It reminded me of the church she attended when she lived here in Illinois (in one of her Illinois homes).snow village 485

I think the blue roofed duplex was my first piece.snow village 470

My church, that I purchased for my collection, is below in the corner.  Yes, that’s a Valentine’s Day house on the far right.  It never seems to get out much, so why not put it out now?snow village 468

Thank you for stopping by and visiting with me in my Snow Village.  I hope you enjoyed my miniature town.

Bye for now!

      Hi Catherine,
We have the same time of weather here near Chicago. We’re even getting lots of rain, so it really feels like spring. I love it too! My husband and I both say “thank you”.

A great job setting up your beautiful collection. Did you hear a gasp when I saw the little greenhouse? Thanks for sharing.

      Hi Susette,
My husband appreciates the comments; he worked hard setting it up so perfectly. I remember when I saw that greenhouse. At the time I wanted the real thing, which I wasn’t going to get, so this was a way to dream about one anyway. Now, I realize all of the work a greenhouse would mean and that would mean less time for creating, so everything works out. Thank you, Susette.

      Hi Sonia,
My husband says thank you! Those tight shots of the village make you feel like you’re in there too, don’t they? I had fun taking them. Thank you for all of the Christmas wishes and sending you the same. Merry Christmas!

What a sweet thing to say, Pennie! That means a lot to me! My husband spent a lot of time setting this up, but it was worth it as we are all enjoying it immensely. We both say thank you! Enjoy your Christmas holiday!

Love seeing your village. Mine, still in their boxes. I have a couple of your pieces, but most of mine are from my aunt. She had the first pieces made. Then, I added a few, like the antique shop, grocery store, gas station, and movie theatre. Also have a couple of schools. So my village, when put up, takes at least three horizontal surfaces to display. Believe it or not, we actually went out and bought a skinny artificial tree to fit in the only open space we have. Put it up and decorated it last night. It can only hold about a quarter of the decorations we have, but I put on only the vintage. Looks great to us after four years without a tree. Also had to pick up a 7 foot giraffe to put up outside. He’s currently inside peering at the Xmas tree. Been having some needed rain here in CA thus preventing his outdoor installation.
    Thanks for sharing your village.

Thank you, Joy. It sounds like you have quite a wonderful Snow Village set. I know that it takes a lot to set up (and ours is a lot smaller than yours); ours doesn’t make it out every year either. When it does, though, it is more special. I’m glad you put up a tree; now you can enjoy your vintage ornaments with all of the memories that go along with them. Is a Christmas giraffe a new thing? I have never seen a giraffe decoration at Christmastime.

    Hi Cindy,
I just love how your hubby set up your Christmas village. I always enjoyed looking at my friends set up with these houses and props. Yours is done exceptionally well! Which room in your house do you have it set up in?
    Blessings, Jeanne

Thank you, Jeanne, and my husband says thank you too! I’m happy he took the time to set our village up this year; we are really enjoying it. It is in the family room, the same room as the tree.
