Today is the last day to add a comment to be entered to win one of the two Craftsy class giveaways. If you missed yesterday’s post, you can read it here. Feel free to comment on this post or yesterday’s post, either will get you entered.
Yesterday I got a few things finished. Do you remember the sweater that I showed you with the embroidered poinsettia? That ensemble is all completed! I crocheted a little Christmas stocking to go with it too, so fun. I need to get photos taken… here’s the poinsettia embroidery on the sweater again.
Millie’s ensemble is in the works. Like the sweater pictured above, I also made Millie a winter white mohair sweater. It will be a great “canvas” for the embroidery and brighten up the fabric. I added a row of winter white fine English cotton Cluny lace to the skirt to help tie the two pieces together. That’s all I have done on Millie’s outfit so far.
I’ve started an ensemble for Patience too. I just started that one, so I’ll have to share photos later.
We had a beautiful sunset yesterday evening.
Our house faces the east, so as I stood on our front porch I saw the trees in our front yard lit up by the setting sun, so magical.
Remember to add a comment to win one of the two free Craftsy classes. I’ve purchased quite a few Craftsy classes and enjoy them all. Even if I don’t make what they are making, it is fun to watch the teachers share what they know and are so passionate about. The classes are yours to view again and again, like a video class library. Also, you can ask the teacher a question and she will get back to you with an answer.
I talked about my newest Craftsy class addition last week when I started knitting in the round. You can read about my knitting in the round journey here and here. I’ve made two Santa hats in the round so far!
Bye for now!
Millie’s going to be a great model for that beautiful fabric you’ve chosen. Not sure if you saw my yesterday’s post, but I would choose a how to knit class if chosen for the getaway.
Love your fall sky photos.
Thanks, Joy. I’ve’ been working on Millie’s ensemble all day. Yes, I have you entered.
If I should win I would choose the “Knit faster with /Continental Knitting” class. I’m a slow knitter and if there’s a faster way, i want to learn it.
I enjoy reading your blog Cindy, but over the years I have read lots of quilt blogs and have learned not to expect a post everyday. There were a couple who posted everyday, those who liked to talk a lot about their lives, shopping with their husbands, kids, chickens, etc. and while a little of that is interesting, it’s not what I’m looking for in a blog; and, like you mentioned, it takes time away from actually creating something.
I think you should do what is comfortable for you and not feel that you have to ‘entertain’ your readers. I mainly look at see what new perfect thing you have created!
Thanks, Jevne, for your input. It’s a balancing act, for sure. We’ll see how it will all work out. I’ve been looking at that class too. I would love to knit faster, but the practice needed going from English to Continental is probably quite a bit. And, my gauge would probably change which would mean my patterns would no longer work, so I keep putting it off. It does look tempting though.
Thank you for being a loyal reader!
Hi Cindy, I have been enjoying looking through your website ever since I found you on Facebook, I love your doll ensembles, your knitting and embroidery is perfect and beautiful. I’ve read your blog, but never realized there was a comment section until today. I also love knitting for my dolls, it’s my favorite needlework for dolls. As much as I love to knit, if I won a Crafty class, I’m leaning toward learning to draw, so I can draw pictures of outfits for my dolls. I used to love to draw when I was little. Well, thank you for sharing all of your beautiful work and blog, your pictures are also very pretty!
Hi Lori,
Thanks so much for you kind compliments on my work. I love hearing from my readers, so please do add comments whenever you want to say hello. Craftsy just added a fashion illustration class which looks interesting. I have you entered in the giveaway.
I for one have thoroughly enjoyed your 30 day blogs! Loved the scenic photos, the color of fabric and yarns, the beautiful fashion show of Cindy Rice Designs and the tips for knitting and whatnot’s…thank you!
Hello Pennie,
I am so happy you have enjoyed my daily blogging. 🙂 I enjoy it even though it takes time away from creating. Not sure if you want to be entered in the drawing. I will put your name in anyway.
